My daughter has a rather large keloid scar forming on the back of her right earlobe. Everything I've read online seems rather negative on actually removing it or healing it. Does anyone have experience with this type of scar and has had success curing it?

I have two. One old, one newly formed. When I got my one treated, it was frozen and then injected with something or other the decreased the size of the scar. It may take several injections to decreaze the size. Surgery can more often than not actually make the scaring worse. So, injections are the best bet in my opinion.

Oddly enough they can form because of injuries or just because. It seems mine tend to form just because. It's a pain. I don't know anyone that has them in my family either, so it's odd that I'm getting them. They are not fun, but thankfully not harmful, just itchy and painful. Hopefully you can get it settled for her.

Thank you so much for your comment. My daughter is very scared of actually having surgery on her ear, so I think I'll look into the injections. Her keloid actually seems to be getting larger, even though we've been trying some home remedies. She's only 15 and this has been a nightmare for her. It's amazing that no one can explain how they actually come about. No one else in our family has ever had this.

One of my very close friends have keloid on his chest and it has been growing over yrs. The doc say tht there is no treatment. One said tht surgery might resolve but it can worsen as well, there is no guarantee on that. Though am not sure of injections, can you guys help me out what injections, how many to be taken and how effective is it. Any other medicine which you guys can suggest. I came through a site called blemish-be-gone.com, am googling its review over internet to see if its worth taking that or its just another scam. any help from your sides wud be highly appriciated

keloid might have developed because of earlobe piercing which is one of the common causes of keloid formation. It may reccur or become worse if it is removed surgically. The treatment is injecting a steroid triamcinolone intralesionally into the keloid. It may decrease the size of the keloid. Consult your doctor regarding this treatment. I hope this treatment works for your daughter.

My daughter's keloid did develop because of ear piercing we believe, it's been a bit traumatizing for her, but hopefully, we can look into the injections and she'll be able to regain her confidence. Thank you for responding.
