I have been a smoker for many many years, about 40 years I used to smoke in my house but now that I am trying to cut down I don''t smoke in the house anymore. I go outside to have a smoke. I find this way I don't smoke as much. I never smoke the whole cigertte every time I go. I smoke only half of it and finish the othe half next time I go outside. I'm finding this way I only have one when I really want one. It's getting cold outside so I go out less and less often. A pack of smokes lasts me about 3 days now, where as when I smoked in the house I was smoking a pck a day.
So do you smoke in your house or do you go outside to smoke?

oops, I used to smoke at home. As soon as I hit the post comment button I realized I missed the word used. I wish there was a button to correct your response after it was posted.

YES, When I did smoke I did smoke in my house. Bad habit it is good to smoke outside instead of inside. Smoking inside leaves bad ordor in your clothes, and couch&loveseat.

Your right, my kids always made a comment when they came over. They weren't rude about it, but they would say something like, it smells like smoke in here. My mom always complains when I go to her house, how my clothes stink. It's really a nasty habit and dirty too. I hope to eventually quit.

I have not smoked in my home for the past 5 years.
I have 2 children and I don't believe in forcing them to smell the crap. They are not old enough to just leave the house on their own therefore I have to be the responsible one.
I really want to quit so they don't have to worry about me getting sick and dying but I don't know if I want to quit badly enough and no one will quit if it's not really what they want.

Hi,there! From what you said,it seems that's a good way to cut down the quantity of smoking. I don't think it's good to smoke in the house cause it not only pollutes the house but also does harm to other people in the house. I never smoke and actually I don't know how to smoke. I feel lucky that no one in my house smokes. We enjoy the environment without the smoking air:) Congratulation on decreasing smoking! Smoking is not good for one's health so I hope that you can give it up one day. Have a good day:)

Hi chrislotz! Yes, I do smoke until now but have refrained from smoking iside the house. I guess, like you i am cutting down on my smoking and not smoking inside my home is one step to limit my smoking. Sometimes i get too lazy to go outside of the house to get a smoke. LOL! Take care and have a nice day. :)

I don't need to say "used to". I would rather say "as for me". I don't smoke when I am at the computer because I must use my hands, but the reason why I still smoke at home is because there are no restrictions to smoke in my own home. Outside is very cold, so I'm not tempted to smoke there.

I know what you mean, on the computer your hands are busy. I think I wasted the smoke more by letting it sit in the ashtray and burn away.
