I hate it when I go to a restaurant and I order a well-done steak and I get a pinkish looking meat! It is really disgusting! I start thinking about the poor animal I am about to eat half cooked. I am not a vegetarian(yet) I am thinking about it though..I really think about the taste of meat which is so great and I really don't know if I will ever be able to become a vegetarian. But then again, how in earth will I ever resest to a good smelling-looking-tasty steak? I can't understand though how people can eat almost raw meat. Rear done or even medium done steaks are just so raw! What kind of steak do you prefer to eat?

I prefer my meat cooked either medium-well, or well done. I don't like any sign of pink in the meat that I eat.
My BIL on the other hand likes his meat cooked rare. How gross it that? :P

i prefer to eat well-done steak than any other else because when i tried medium rare, i got sick i had to be taken to the ER. it so happened that the meat was infected with salmonella. since then, my steaks should always be well-done.

This is such a funny discussion that I had to post to it! I love my meat medium rare; but I do understand exactly what you mean! There are times that if the meat is cut incorrectly and I can "see" the muscle I will actually gag at the realization that this flesh was at one time alive. This happens mostly with chicken. I was a vegetarian for 2 years; but after my second Thanksgiving with Spinach Loaf as the entree, I went out and bought a huge roast for Black Friday!

well I ask for the next one after well done lol. I dont want to see a trace of blood or pink. I will be happy with black as long as I dont see pink. I am not a meat fan but when I eat it I want it cook to my taste.

MY steak has to be well done with absolutely NO sign of pink left. I cannot eat rare meats. Not even a little bit pink. If I am at a restaurant and my steak is even slightly rare I will send it back until it is done right. My food is not allowed to still be bleeding when I eat it.

I like my steaks to be medium well I want all the blood cooked out of it so it is just starting to turn brown I used to order them well done but they would be so tough they would be hard to eat. I think prime rib taste better as medium rare though it keeps the flavor better.
