do teenagers really need mobiles?

Mobile is very useful when used in proper way. It is very helpful for teenagers to be in touch with other friends and family. We can survive without a mobile and why not teenagers. But, if they have it then it can be good for them.

I guess school is a bit too early for kids to carry mobile phones. The primary purpose of the phone is to stay in touch when you cannot really meet in person. Well, if going to school means that then fair enough. But otherwise it's pointless to hand the kid a cellphone. Mostly school going kids dont carry a mobile phone here. And that's the way it should be!

I think it's okay for teenagers to have cell phones...especially older teenagers. They go out with their friends and it's nice to have them a phones length away so you can call them if you need them or they can call you when they need. Etc. I don't think they need their cells in school or anything and I certainly don't think younger kids under like 15 would need them very much at all.

I think there is nothing wrong in teenagers having mobiles . It is actually very useful for them to keep in touch with their friends.

mobiles for teenagers are a necessary in this day and age, not just to communicate but also to 'fit it' which believe it or not is extreamle important at that age.

i think that the teenagers mast have a hand phone,they can use it for talk with friend and most important is talk with their lover and also... the handphone has many games....

Obiously, Teenagers need Mobile Phone. Mobile Phone is a good media to express our own thinking. It is excellent.

Disagree. I myself hadn't had a mobile three years ago and what? I still had social life, friends and everything. I wasn't less popular because I haven't got the newest Nokia or Siemens. I, of course, do agree that mobiles are useful, help you stay in touch with friends and family when going somewhere, but more and more teenagers are getting addicted to cell phones - they just can't stop using them. Writing SMSes is ok to leave someone note or something, but sending tons of messages is kinda stupid and boring for me. I'd rather spend a few minutes talking instead of writing it all. Anyway, I think that kids should get expensive gadgets as late as possible, and that they should be just basic models. If your mobile doesn't have camera it doesn't mean you can't talk with it! Buying expensive phones just to show off should stop...

I myself bought my first cel phone when I was driving alot from Belgum to Holland and back. I had gotten problems with my car and could not find anyone to let me use a phone. In Belgum the people I have meet were rather distant. In Holland it would have been no problem.People always want to help. As do the people here in Berlin. But, since that cold day my car broke down, I got me a cell phone. I have been living in Berlin for 1 year now, don´t have a car anymore. And my telephone is cheaper than my cel phone. I am using my cel phone only as a alarm clock. LOL. Do teenagers really need mobilies? Even though I hardly use mine, I do think that teenagers are better off with a normal cel phone. I found it good that I could always contakt my children and they could always contakt me. But, these games, I don´t see why they should be on my cel phone. It is way to small, good way to ruin your eyes. And if something happens on the way home , they can phone someone for help. It may not be absolutly necessary, but I find it is a good thing. It's somehow very common now that teenagers have cell phones with them.I think if it's really necessary to contact their friends and family members and they really use the cell phone to do these things,then it's all right to own a cell phone. It depends on different people. For some teenagers,they don't think it's necessary to have a cell phone now.While for others,they really think they need one and should have one.There're many teenagers around me who have cell phones.They contact each other pretty often by it. I have no problems with that. I think once you need,then you can have one.I don't think it has too much to do with ages:) But if one wants it just because he wanna play games in the phone,then there's no need to own a cell phone. I am a teenager and I got to say, we need mobile phones! We use it mainly for communication. Not just to connect us to our parents but also to our friends. I think having friends is a big factor in teenage life and we need that to keep us in touch. It may seem unimportant to some but for us, it has become a part of our way of life. Adults doesn't seem to understand this really because mobile phones are not their thing when they are still teenagers. Games and taking photos are just an added feature. I have a lot of friends who have simple phones and they are quite satisfied. What important is that they get to contact their friends. I think it also helps a lot in school. We use it to meet up with friends on a certain place or ask about homeworks. No not the answers but what we miss during class or when we need some help. Me and my friends don't really like to have expensive phones because if we lose it, then we're in big trouble! ",
