Grits are for breakfast for some people here in USA. I usually eat it for breakfast, with 2 eggs toast and coffee and bacon. Grits are mostly eaten in the southern US, so i know when someone is from "the South" when I see them loving grits! i am not from South but lived there some years. It is made from grinding up Hominy corn, or sometimes just corn. similar to Polenta.. You can see many recipes online.... c-ya!

hi,my day is okay, this is Thanksgiving Holiday week in US. You have very strange food there, duck egg? dried fish tomato for breakfast? can you cook all these things.. if you are a good cook then I will come to visit you.. hehe! Grits is like fine corn grain. Then boiled to become creamy. It is not special, but typical in some areas of US, but in other areas nobody knows it. Like my area they dont make it here in the breakfast cafe. But in the south they make everywhere. you must be religious with the avatar of M. Teresa and Pope...What does Pinay mean?

Yep, sure do! And yes, I'm from the South. We eat grits almost every morning that we prepare breakfast and usually add cheese to them. They're good with fried fish too.

Actually, no. I don't care for catfish. I prefer salt water varieties, like mullet, grouper and mackerel. I'm originally from Florida, having been born and mostly raised there. I've also lived in Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee. We're getting ready to move back to Georgia as soon as we sell out house. We just listed it a few days ago and are hoping that it sells quickly. I miss living in the south. There are so many things that are different back there, it's another way of life back there. I also miss the foods that I grew up on that you simply can't get out here (I live in Reno, Nevada now.).

Yuck I hate grits. My parents used to make it sometimes, they're from the south so they ate it often growing up. I just don't like the texture and it tastes like paste to me. I've only had it with butter but I still don't like it.

I never tried grits until the past year. They're pretty good, I like to sprinkle cinnamon sugar on mine.

I am not from the south, but I like grits. I grew up in Illinois. I like mine with some butter, salt, and pepper. I have some in the pantry, but I hardly ever eat them.
