My daughter loves to draw. This is one of her many masterpieces. She is five and we want to help encourage her artistic abilities by letting her draw and make fun of us. This is her drawing of me threating her and daddy to give me the star wand or else I will fork the daddy. What do you do for your child or let them do to you to encourage them?

Having been a step-mommy for a short time and baby-sitting neices and nephews, some creative expressionists, some not so creative--I found let their imaginations so innocent and young be nurtured through the gifts of play and no adult supervision would be left at play, meaning of course join in and become a child with them, again !
Help those little minds think up into beautiful people appreciating beautiful things, even making those things more beautiful than ever before ! Encourage the artiste !

Ur daughter is talented. As for my kids, I am trying to figure what are the skills they can excel in. Coz as u know each and every kid is talented in a different way I mean, some may have the knack for math, some for assembling and disassembling stuff, some reading, some cooking, u know what I mean.
Thanx for the valuable post.

Your daughter is an artist! I didn't know a five year old could draw something like that. hehe anyway, it is cute and I like the way she drew it. It is also funny and colorful. Why did she draw you threating her and her daddy? Is this what you do at home? Kids draw what they saw, experienced or learned. That is why parents should be a good model for their kids. Anyway, back to the topic, about encouragement, just appreciate what they did, tell her what a fine job she did or tell her it is a good drawing, something like that. Just let them draw whatever they want like that masterpiece in your avatar. Good luck.

Yeah, I make these silly threats all the time. She thinks it's cute. She made one of her own. She told her father that if he don't get off of that computer and spend some time with her she will cook him in the tub. She even explain how she is going to cook him with lots of veggies to be healthy lol. We love to joke around in our family. But she respects us and hubby does spend a lot of time with the girls and me. And yes she loves to draw but with daddy's help. I have lot's of drawing from her by herself though. It is the drawing tablet that let her do the circles and stuff and she has a wireless pen that she uses too. It's pretty cool. Thanks for your comment dear.

it is too small.so I can't see it clearly.
but I think it is the best for because it is drawn by your daughter.

Hahaha, I will ask my little Artist to see if I can schedule you a time just kidding. Yeah she did the drawing on the computer with the input drawing device tablet that my hubby attached to the computer. It's great it can even help her turn her little pics into a cartoon using a flash program. That is next, hubby is trying to teach my little Artist to do so other stuff on the computer. Thanks for your comment dear.
