The idea for this thread came to me because i found myself talking badly about the usa here on Mylot in another dicussion. I like america and i like most coutries of the world. But many times it just happens that we find ourselves saying not very nice things about other cultures, maybe based on come cultural cliches we have absorbed from the popular cultures we live in.
So my question is, what are those cliches you know of? Have you found yourself using some in your discussions?
I can think about those:
-Americans are all stupid.
-Italians are all about organized crime.
-Chinese eat children (believe it or not i have heard Berlusconi say this, what an awful politician he is lol)
-Colombians are all drugdealers

I think there are a lot better ones for America than Americans are all stupid. Do these cliches have to be mean? Cuase not all cliche's are rude. How about Canadians are funny. Canadians love Hockey. America is a place everyone wants to live. Stuff like that.

No you can put whatever you want. I did put only mean ones simply because its more usual that cliches are not very nice.
Also in some cases what you may find nice really isnt. Like about italians i hear a lot of people talk about my country saying we are cool because we are so good at it we can deceive the law in wichever way we want.
That obviously isnt cool, and even if it was it isnt true.
