Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.

I am against anti-depressants in general but I do believe that sometimes you need some help and you have to ease your pain so you have to take it.
My inner belief is that most depressions if they are not genetic they occur because of tragic circumstances and therefore we have to be able to speak in a lengthy way and repeatedly about this tragic event, analyze it deeply and get a psychotherapist to try to solve issues that seem unsolvable. I believe that we have the power to solve, accept and live normally again if we take the time to think it over, look for solutions and try to find the things that make you happy in life. If we can reach this level, we will never need to be medicated for depression. There is a lot of pain in life and we can't avoid it but we can work on ourselves and look at the positive things around us.
Anti-depressant can make you more lethargic, less vivid and that is what scares me the most about medication. But still, if you think that you need this kind of help even if it is temporary, speak to your doctor and get the help. There is sometimes no other choice because despite the side effects, they help you forget and we need that at times.
