I almost gave away enough information for someone to steal my identification but fortunately I pondered it long enough to research the website. I was searching for a job online and after a few days of interaction with a website called Vermont Trust, thinking I had landed the job I was ready to submit the final employment documents (state id, soc sec card, etc.), when I checked out with WHOIS and found out the site had just been created. I emailed this questioning their credibility and haven't heard back from them since. Wow, just in time. Hope none of you fall into this trap.

I'm glad you double-checked. Have you installed McAfee SiteAdvisor on your machine? I recommend you do so, then avoid submitting information on any site that's not green. SiteAdvisor currently supports Internet Explorer and Firefox: http://www.siteadvisor.com/

Hey thanks for the information. I usually use AOL, but maybe I'll check it out. Do you know what the cost is or is it a free download. I just purchased a package from NORTON (black friday deal :) maybe it has something like this. Thanks again!!

SiteAdvisor does have a paid version, which will actually block you from visiting some sites. There are a few things it does that the free version does not, but they're hardly useful anymore. SiteAdvisor is better for giving you an idea as to whether or not a site is honest by nature, than detecting and blocking zero-day threats. I'd just recommend the free version.
Symantec has an equivalent to SiteAdvisor, called Norton Confidential. I couldn't tell you whether you got it without knowing exactly what package you got in this Black Friday deal. Norton Confidential only works with IE and Firefox, like SiteAdvisor. Personally, I can't stand Symantec's security products. They're too heavy on system resources. All I really use from Symantec are Norton WinDoctor and Partition Magic.

I did return the employment docs. They have changed their email server address 3 times in the past 2 weeks. They have also shipped me a couple of packages asking that I inspect them and ship them to another country requesting that I pay for the shipping out of my own pocket. I refused to do so. I am now trying to figure out what to do with the packages. I have also been recieving mail addressed to other people. Like at&t phone confirmation's and at&t calling cards. What do I do now????
