working at the auction

I work at one of the Manheim auctions which I really enjoy. I am in the transportation division. All we do is drive cars all day,to and from dealers and to Enterprise outlets. You may think it is boring, but no...when we pick up cars that were traded in for new cars, we always get surprises..some won't start, others have no headlights working,or A/C not working. No radio or the faceplate is missing...wonder why these idiots do that...it depreciates the value of the car and its amenities. At any rate we drive new and used cars to the auction and they are all kinds: Mercedes, BMW, Saab, Toyota, Nissan, MaZda,Acura,Cadillac, Buick, Chevy, Olds, and of course Ford. Makes life interesting.I get lots of experience driving all kinds of new cars and some wrecks too, which are a challenge to drive back to the auction.

I too have worked driving cars at an auction as well as for a rental company at the airport. I know what you mean when you say wrecks. I have driven many that had no brakes and had to use the emergency brake to slow them down or down shift them if they had a stick shift. It wasn't much fun having to drive a car in 90 degree weather when the AC was broken and the windows were stuck shut. I did like driving all the new cars though. It was kinda a fun job. I like driving.
