Have you seen the new Kindle from Amazon? It's almost like a PDA but you read books and newspapers on it. You can even have magazine subscriptions on it. You are always connected to the web, with an encyclopedia/dictionary, and you buy the books right from the device. It has a lot of other cool features, and saves a lot of space. I was thinking of buying one, but there aren't any books available on it by my favorite author. I think I am going to see what develops with it.
I think I might miss the feel and smell of real books though. The tangible qualities of the printed word, if you know what I mean.
What are your thoughts?

I'd love to have an Amazon Kindle! I've researched it and I made a Squidoo lens about it and I think it would be great to have, especially to have to read in bed so the books wouldn't fall on my face! I especially like that it uses cell phone technology to connect to the Internet rather than requiring you to be in a "hot spot." Yep, I want one. Santa, are you listening?

I wouldn't want to replace real books completely, because I like the feel and smell, too. But, I love the Kindle. I watched the demonstration on Amazon, and I was hooked. It's too expensive right now, but I hope to get one. I think it could be a good supplement to print books. The books that aren't available on the Kindle I can just buy in print. And, my library can get bigger without taking up as much space.
