yesterday we had a recitation, my English Instructor said something and i didn't understand because i was sleepy and i didn't catch her questions. she scolded me and she said something that included the phrases "I'm giving ou the benefit of the doubt", something like that...
what does that phrase mean? the "give someone the benefir of the doubt"?
please help me, i'm afraid to ask the flamboyant genius in our class...

"I'm giving ou the benefit of the doubt" means believeing you with reservation. Or almost believeing you.
