When I was in grade school (1990s0, I used to wear these bright neon, iridescent pink spandex pants! With a big old sweatshirt over that and big old socks "scrunched" down by my L.A. Gear sneakers. And I used to wear my hair in a half ponytail, which my mother always used to call a "princess ponytail."*laughing* how cute.
Another favorite: I had this favorite pair of shorts that had a skirt over them. But they were the old style, where the shorts were longer than the skirt. Now, I look back and they are hideous! hahaha

Hi Ophelia,
I was a teen in the 80's I was in grade school in the late 70's. My Buster Browns were my favoriet shoes! My mom made a lot of my clothes in grade school and stuff. But I had Chic jeans, and Reebox tennis shoes in JR High. LOL Jordache were in style and had some of those. I wore a lot of spandex and slouch sox with my hair in a pony tail on the side of my head. LOL Oh boy, bet I was a sight then! We used to cuff our already tapered jeans too, make them fit really tight to our ankles. I guess that slipped into the 90's too for a little bit, before boot legs came back in style and the 70's was reborn.

Camoflauge pants, a black t-shirt, combat boots, and one of those necklaces that hangs on a cord, of which I had several.
I also wore men's white button-up shirts over various patterned leggings: my favorite had a sort of diamond pattern, but I also had some with skulls, aliens, stripes, etc. Usually with this outfit I would wear either a wide leather belt or a chain belt over my shirt.

Hehe, it's okay. I think I'm older than I am most of the time too. ;p
I remember stirrup pants, and I think I had a pair or two. But they didn't feel very comfortable to me actually, they kind of pulled on the bottoms of my feet. So mostly I wore leggings. Also, stirrup pants didn't have the variety that leggings did, in color and patterns, at least as far as I remember. I loved wearing the really out-there leggings, though they got me in trouble once.
I wore my white and black diamond patterned leggings to school, and then got in trouble for back-talking a teacher. The punishment of the time was to sit in this wooden box-thing in the back of the room all day, so you could still hear the classes but weren't allowed to talk to anyone. Well, the box had like a desk, and wood on top of it, but people could see your feet and the bottom of your legs. So my neighbor saw those diamond-print leggings and knew who was in there... and went and told my grandmother! I was wishing I had worn something a little less conspicuous. :P

Oh no! They got you caught! Yeah the knew you by your clothes for sure with the diamond pattern on it. I wore really loud and colorful ones really. I have a pic of me in my fave pair too, and I thought about posting it, but I think Ill pass. LOL
I only had a few pairs of the stir up pants too, black ones. Your right, they didnt really seem to be many with patterns or colors.

My earliest days were in the mid to late 70's and during that time were bell bottoms and polyester clothing. UGH!! Even though the bell bottoms have come back, I'm so glad the polysester hasn't!! LOL However times had changed in to tight tight jeans and tops. They looked like they were sewn right on us or we melted into the clothes for they were just that tight. I'm glad for the relaxed fit to come out and hope it's here to stay.

When I was in Middle School (7th-8th grade) we wore Guess Jeans. The bad thing wasn't the jeans themselves, it was the fact that we would roll them around our ankles so tight it practically cut off circulation. It looked terrible now that I think about it, but back then we all though we were cool.
