Try to love what you do. Self motivation is not easy. Tell your self "I want to wash dishes (for example) because I want clean dishes". Also try telling yourself "I don't like dirty dishes" instead of saying that you don't like washing dishes. When you tell yourself that you want to do a task it becomes easier to do. We as people tend to cater to our wants. When you repeatedly say something you begin to believe it. Things that are benificial should always be referred to in the positive. Things that are not good for you should be referred to in the negative. That way things that are productive to your well being becomes your desires while things that are distructive to your well being become unappealing.

I like that. It makes sense. I want to exercise because I want to look good for my husband when he gets back.

I can identify with you, because I suffer from serious energy fluctuations. When I was younger, this was not a problem but now it can be very debilitating. For me, a workable solution is playing something in the background that I enjoy, or find fascinating, whether music, DVD or whatever, online programme, but it has to be fresh, not something I am over-familiar with. It is a reasonable temporary solution, and can provide some get up and go in my experience.

Wish I had some, I need motivation too. There are a lot of days I just don't feel like doing much of anything, unless there is a really great reason to do it. In fact, this week I have been really slow on mylot to top it all off, haven't even been motivated enough to get on here and do much. Hopefully next week will be better.

I hear you. I need motivation some days for everything but being online.

About the only time I'm motivated to clean is if company is coming over, or if I get mad, and I mean really really mad. You should have seen me folding laundry a couple weeks ago when I was really freaking pissed. It was crazy. As for getting work done... depends on what kind of work... Remember what your goal is, what are you working toward? How important is it? Is it worth the work? If not, maybe you should reconsider it anyway. Exercising? Get an iPod and listen to tunes that get you going (Bon Jovi, perhaps?) Eating right... Just think of how dang good you are going to look running around scantily clad after you eat right for a while!
