It was once an uncommon name, though I am seeing more and more people named Summer. Yes just like the season, and no I wasn't born during the summer. I think those are the questions most frequently asked.
Is anyone else here named Summer? How about any other nontraditional names?

Summer is getting to be really common nowadays.
I am not named Summer (though my cousin named her daughter that) but I do have an extremely unusual name that do this day I am the ONLY one that seems to have it. There are several who have a similar name but not my exact spelling - which changes the pronunciation just a bit. If you want to know it just PM me :)
I love nontraditional or older names to be exact. And even more so non-American names. If I had my way in naming my children - I'd name my daughter Morgaine and my son Gwydion (like in The Mists of Avalon). Though I love, love, love Morgaine more. That's always my name when I'm playing games LOL.
But my hubby is super traditional. I like one uncommon name and one common name. That way they can choose to be called which ever they fancy. Like Sara Morgaine and Joseph Gwydion. However we have agreed on a great boy name recently (if we ever get to have any kids LOL) - Elihue for the first name and his name for the middle name. They sound great together and Elihue is not all that common. And I love the nickname Eli. As for a girl if we ever have one??? Sara is pretty much a given though I am leaning off it after my last miscarriage...but Morgan and Bailey (was my maiden name) are the competing contenders for the middle and first names. Morgan is a compromise of Morgaine. 'Cause Morgan isn't one he likes either.
On a side note - I would name my child Winter. Actually I've started a book (some years ago) and the main characters name is Winter. I've always loved it.

That's what I wanted to do - first name common & second name uncommon LOL.
I haven't met any Winters but I have met one Spring, some Autumn and Summers.

I love unusual names. My first son has a normal first name and uncommon middle name as a compromise, but with my second we switched and he has an unusual first name and common middle name.
I've met a few Winters, many more Summers, and 2 Autumns.

I think it is a lovely name, I think I have only heard that name in a soap opera I used to watch, many people these days get named after nature, I wonder why your mother called you that, if there was a reason behind it or if she just liked the name...anyway it is a very nice name.
