Sour milk?

Have you ever gone into the fridge and got the milk out and found it to be sour. I made myself a cup of coffee today and put my milk in it and yuk! I could taste that the milk was sour. I looked at the date and it should have still been good for another 5 days. Why does it sour when it shouldn't have! So I had to make another cup with powder creamer. It's not quite the same and I didn't enjoy it as much, so I only had one cup. I normally drink two or three cups.
Share with me your experiences with sour milk.

eew lol! nasty stuff when it goes bad isnt it!
a loong time ago i took a big ol drink (yeah from the carton, that'll teach me) and it was VERY bad, had started to get curdled!!
ever since then i smell the milk when i open the container before i even pour a drop! its become such a habit that i do it without even thinking about it now.
maybe your refrigerator isnt keeping things as cold as it should?

Maybe your right, I'll have to ask my hubby to look at it. I have done the same thing as you and drank chocolate milk out of the carton, that was sour. It was awful too.

I had a similar experience a month back. I forgot to check the carton of milk I pulled out of the fridge and poured it all on my cereal. Voila! Instant sour breakfast. I was in a hurry so I gulped it all down hoping that my stomach wouldn't turn on me during work hours. Unfortunately, it did. Happy times.. haha!

I actually drank tea with sour milk once. I was at work, and went to the cafeteria in the morning. There was milk and sugar outside so I used them. I don't know how I didn't know, it tasted funny but I wasn't feeling well so I thought my tongue lost its senses. My coworker was the one who told me about it, because she could see the milk not mixed. Somehow I drank it all and didn't get sick.

LOL good thing you tasted it immediately. ^__^
the last time this happened to me was last summer. it was a ready-to-drink sterilized milk. i bought it one weekend, i was out the whole week after that and when i got home on the next weekend, i pour out a cup full and the moment i gulped my first, i knew it was expired. ^__^;; it wasn't just sour, it was very sour. and to think, only a week had passed. i didn't bother to look at the expiry date instead, i threw all of the contents immediately.

Here in our country we mostly drink milk packed in bags. It can be kept in room temperature for as long as 45 days. But once in a while I find one bag of milk that has already gong bad before the expiration date. It happens. And when it does, you can go to the store where you bought it and change for a new one, free of charge. But I'm sure it is not a good experience when you have already put the milk in your coffee and tried it. It happens to everybody but luckily it doesn't happen to us every time. =)

Really that's very yucky. lolz! maybe you open your milk for a couple of days and even it's in ref it will spoiled. My mother told me if you open fresh milk you have to consume it for three days even if it's in refregirator if not it will spoiled. SO you have to consume it before it became sour:) happy posting my friend:)

The one day i was making scrambled eggs, and poured in some milk. the milk was sour smelling sour i had to throw the entire thing out. I checked the due date to make sure i just didn't forget, but it wasn't expired. I thought it might have been my fridge, but all the milk i've gotten since then has been fine. I hate when i find spoiled milk in my fridge though, because the next couple times i go to use milk i have to keep smelling it to make sure its not spoiled.

Well when I was single and lived by myself I had a lot of nasty stuff in the fridge. LOL. But one day I went to get me a bowl of cereal because I had a craving for it real bad. After I poured my cereal in the bowl my craving grew stronger and stronger. I went to pour the milk in and it was chunky. That definately ruined my morning because I wanted cereal and milk and didn't have any good milk. I started checking the dates on my milk after that. Have a great day....funny discussion.
