What is a good way to clean your microwave?

It is pretty nasty and after using it with stuff that has been spilt already and it's cooked on after cooked on. What would be a good cleaner to clean it. I don't have much cleaner. Is there something that works great to clean the microwaves?

I just use glass cleaner or soapy water. When I clean the range top, I wipe out the microwave. It you clean it everytime you use it, or every time you get a spill, it's not that hard. Try boiling some water in the microwave - that will get all the cooked on food moist. Then try wiping the gunk off with a wet, soapy sponge or dish rag.

I was thinking the same thing. Little soap and water. every time I do my dishes, I put the microwave plate along with my dishes. maybe a couple times a week. yes and use glass cleaner for outside.

Put water in a microwave safe bowl adn put it in the microwave for about 20 minutes. You sould be able to wipe most the grime off after that. The water and heat causes condensation which moistens the old dried food. You can also put a cut up lemon or some lemon juice to help with any smell. Hope that helped.

There is a microwave cleaner made by easy off, a wipe you put in cook and it loosens the stuff. I usually just spray it down with a regular cleaner, let is sit for a few minutes and wipe down.

you should put a mug of water and salt in there first and cook it for a minute. all the stuff stuck in there will get unstuck and also "holy cow" that pink degreaser works really well

409 Orange. It is wonderful for getting off the grease. Just spray it on and wait a few minutes. It works pretty well.

I also just use water, place in a bowl and after it steams, I just wipe it clean. Sometimes I put a little lemon juice in with it as well and takes any odors out. Vinegar takes out the odors as well.

Lemon Juice - lemon juice, lemon
I remember this tip from awhile back. Put some lemon juice in a microwave safe bowl and start your microwave. After a couple minutes all the caked on food should just wipe off extremely easily.

I try to clean mine often as well, but I think I'd use the boil water trick if it got too bad.

Cut a few lemons in half, put them in a bowl of water and microwave it for 4 mins. The steam and citrus help loosen up any stuck on food. I learned this from that show "How clean is your house?" lol

LOL I've seen that show. Now mine has never gotten that bad. Thanks for sharing. I guess the lemons look like the better way to go so far.
