If you use Last.fm on regular basic, you can now check if you're an open mind or not, according to your Top Artist's tags. If you want to see it, the tool is located here: http://www.musickum.com/omi/index.php5 -- just insert your Last.fm username and it'll do it's magic. An excerpt from thier FAQ: What stands OMI for? OMI is abbreviation of Open Mind Index, and mirrors the bandwidth of your taste in music. A high OMI is an indicator for a high musical bandwidth and your openness for different kind of music. How will OMI be calculated? The calculation is based on your last.fm-profile, respectively on your top artist of the last 12 months. The quantity of your played songs, as well as the artist-tags will be considered. By the quantity, distribution and weighting of the tags, the OMI will be calculated. Why do you only consider the artists of the last 12 months? Your top-artists change from one month to the next one. In this way it is easier to calculate your current taste in music, than to consider every artist. By this calculation scripts, a visualisation of the chronically trend of your taste of music can be done.
