Can Mike Gravel pull it off?

Former Senator Mike Gravel is in the race for the Democratic nomination, but the corporate controlled media refuses to recognize him, and is now excluding him from debates. They say because he hasn't raised enough campaign cash, they are requiring one million in donations and Gravel has only raised around 300,000. Frankly, I think that this has more to do with a few other things, namely his willingness to call out other candidates on their actions and positions and his UNwillingness to accept money from any corporate sponsors. Throw into the mix that Mr. Gravel is strongly opposed to the war and that he has set himself against the military industrial complex and it's no wonder he's found the battle to be more than uphill. Why should MSNBC admit him into the debates they host when they are owned by GE and GE is a war profiteer?
Gravel isn't taking this laying down however. He didn't lie and allow the draft to be renewed during Vietnam and he's certainly decided to make any move he can against this current war. He's hosted alternative debates during the ones he's excluded from to be broadcast on ustream where he blasts and outs the other candidates for miss steps. He is a hugely popular topic on youtube and his video about making waves is immensely popular. He hosts a podcast to answer voter questions which is rather impressive use of technology for a man his age.
Reporters are starting to take notice which gives him more media. So the question is, can Mike Gravel pull it off. I don't know, but I sure hope he can.

Honestly, I don't think he can. This isn't anything against Gravel, personally I like many of his ideas and his politics. But I just don't think American society is ready for someone like him yt. There are too many conservatives with old money still calling the shots to let guys like Gravel in.
I'm a Kucivich supporter myself, but I doubt he has a shot in this election.
