Bashing of God is everywhere... on myLot, Internet, other forums...

Whenever I go online, I can find people who are always bashing of God. Well, myLot's forum is one of them. One of Ten Commandments says that "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain".
Someone whom I know doesn't want to chat on the Internet or to talk on online forums because she thinks that you are talking with the "Devil". At first, I don't agree with her. But now, I began thinking of it (LOL) It seems that people are getting out of their minds on the Internet. It is so scary. Do you agree with it?

Hi friendship,
Yes, God is being bashed everywhere. But you know what? He is still in control! He still loves us and He still wants us to come to Him in repentance. He loves us in spite of our sins and gives us chance after chance to come to Him.
There are many who want nothing to do with the Lord. They want to run their own lives. We are so imperfect and when we try and run our own lives, our llves become a mess! Just like the wonderful old hymn goes..."oh what needless pain we bear! All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!" It is so true! We suffer with worry so much because we try to bear our burdens ourselves instead of letting God bear them and help us. I've learned that!
God is in control. No matter how hopeless a situation may seem or how chaotic and crazy this world gets, HE is in control and HE will have the final say!
God bless!

You have a strong faith on God, springlady. God bless you! Yes, I believe that God's words will be forever. He is still in control. No one can change it.

I think you have misunderstood something. The message concerning God that so many myLotters have expressed with which you do not agree is not bashing God, but instead is bashing those who profess to believe in God.
God is the creator of the universe. What's to bash? Who would dare bash Him?
However, the hypocrisy, ignorance, and even violence perpetrated by so called believers, is rightly condemed, "bashed", if you will.
The horrible things done in the name of God and justified by scripture are too numerous to list. These are what is being "bashed".
God is immune to "bashing".

LOL... anyone who would call God an idiot is very much in need of our prayers. God is as far from an idiot as is possible.
Thank you for clarifying your postion. I admit to having missed the poster calling God an idoit. Wow, that poor deluded person needs help.

redyellowblackdog,
Oh ya, I don't agree with hypocrisy, ignorance, and violence perpetrated by believers. But when someone is calling that God is idiot without any reason to back it up, it makes me think that way.

I have heard this before and I think it is very silly. Everyone has the right to voice there opnion. Thos people who are God bashers are NOT Christians there for do not believe in the Ten Commandments and possibly dont even know they exist. I am NOT a Christian but I do agree with the Ten Commandments as personal rules to follow by.
As far as the internet being a vessle for talking to the Devil, HAHAHAHAHAH for starters people the Devil does not exist. There are enough evil in this world that such a creature is not needed.

Magikrose,
If unbelievers don’t believe that God does exist to them, why do they mention about God? God should not exist in their dictionary. So, they won’t discuss or bother it in the first place. Because they don’t care about it, do they? When I mentioned about Ten Commandments, I wanted to address to some Christians who don’t follow it.
Well, I’m glad that I can make you laugh with regard to my posting.

I don't think that people go on the internet for the sole purpose of bashing God.
I think they start bashing God as a reaction against the preachers of God.
Stop talking about God... and nobody will bash him.
It is simple as that.
But you won't do that... because as a preacher... your mission in life is to convert people to God.
You are trying to sell God... and people have a right to decide if they want to buy it or not.

Aussies2007,
What do you think if an atheist or an unbeliever, for instance, are speaking about non-existence of God? Isn't he/she also like a preacher? and isn't he/she also trying to convert people to Atheism?

I guess some of those people would be preaching as well.
But most of those people are anti-religion... not anti-God.
There is a reason for that.
We cannot prove that God exist or not exist.
But we can prove that religion is man made. Actually we know it for a fact as it is recorded in the history books.

Aussies2007,
Uh...uh...Atheists whom I know on myLot are also anti God. They don't believe that God is exist inspite of many wonder things on Earth. People can say whatever they want. I can also say that the Holocaust was not exist.

You can talk about your own beliefs and I don't think it is considered as bashing of God. I think that you know what the definition of bashing is. So, I don't have to explain it to you.

That was supposed to be a question for you "What do you consider bashing God?"
Because I have been accused of bashing God just for talking about my own Gods, which I don't consider fair at all. Just because I want to talk about my beliefs as well as someone else's (have a fair exchange) doesn't mean that I'm bashing theirs.

When you get down to it, are they "bashing God" or simply bashing organized religion as a whole? Especially consider the athiests and agnostics... they do not believe in a god, Christian or otherwise. How can they, therefore, be bashing something that does not exist to them?
Yes, the ten commandments do say to not take the lord's name in vain. However, how does that apply to non-Christians? The commandments are not something they have to live by. In fact, some of those commandments (other than the common-sense ones about not killing, stealing, etc.) go directly AGAINST the religious beliefs they hold as closely to their hearts as you do Christianity, whichever brand you may practice.
The internet has its problems, no question there. However, it is also a wonderful place where people from all over the world, from different backgrounds, social stratas and religions can have meaningful conversations about the issues they hold dear. No one needs to be right or to be wrong. It's the SHARING of belief systems and opinions that is so intriguing, getting to know what makes other people - people you would have never otherwise had an opportunity to "meet" - tick.
(please note that i'm not dragging my own religious beliefs into this)

I agree with you that the Internet can be a wonderful place to share any religious beliefs but unbelievers should not bash God just because they don’t believe in Him. We’re civilized people, aren’t we? We can discuss things without bashing God.

CoffeeWoman,
As I said previously, if atheists/unbelievers don’t believe in God, they won’t discuss, learn, or bother it. Because they are not interested in it at all. This is the same thing… if you don’t like a certain subject, you won’t take or discuss it because you are not interested in the subject at all.
I also don’t expect that atheists/unbelievers answer my postings related to God because I thought that they won’t answer it and they didn’t care about it. Do you think someone will answer postings that he/she is not interested in it at all? That’s why myLot has made a thread regarding “my interests”.
Although someone is trying to cram their religious beliefs down to your throat, their voices will only come in from your right ear and then, come out to your left ear. Alternatively, you can ask politely to them to leave you alone or you, yourself, can politely leave them. If you have a strong opinion that God doesn’t exist, someone won’t be able to convert you at all. I don’t believe that people can convert others’ beliefs. Converting people into something that is not based on their inner hearts will only create hypocrites. It is useless. I believe that true God will show a guidance if He loves those unbelievers. He doesn’t need humans to do so.
The problem with some atheists/unbelievers is that they are always trying to prejudice that all believers are trying to cram their religious beliefs down to their throat or all believers are bad. You know what… it is creating misconception.
You can get the Bible for free, anyway. So, it is not snake oil in readable form as you said. If the Bible is the biggest best-seller of all time, it will be due to God’s direction. With regard to the book has been rewritten numerous times to suit the purposes of the (very fallible) people of the time, how do you know it has been rewritten? Have you lived in numerous time/era? I would like to see the Bibles from one era to another era. Did they have the same understanding?

When reading your response, I had two reactions. We "mention God" because it is being constantly jammed down our throats. The second, post-caffeine response was that, when discussing religion (or any topic, really), one has a tendency to use the vocabulary that the other person will understand. I suppose the true response is a combination of the two. Buddhists, Wiccans and others do not feel a need to cram their religious beliefs down the throat of everyone they meet. They do not spout "there is one true god! if you don't believe in MY god, you're going to he!l! ooooooh, fire and brimstone!" It has always seemed to me to be an incredibly vain stance to take. Worship the "one true Jesus, the one true god" or you're evil. Puh-leeze. "But the bible says..."
So what? The bible is merely the biggest best-seller of all time. It's snake oil in readable form. It is not even pure (i.e. as it was originally written). Rulers, kings, prophets - over the eons, the book has been rewritten numerous times to suit the purposes of the (very fallible) people of the time. Bits were taken out, turned about, etc. This is proven fact.
What strikes me is that you would post such a question to a public site, knowing that it would invite the very "bashing" you are bemoaning?

I agree with you that there are a lot of God bashing on the net. It your not too careful you might find yourself doubting God because of all the trash talk.
But there are times that I could not help myself and defend the God of my beliefs. I suggest that you go to sites where your heart would be uplifted instead of discourage.

The Internet and the Web are not conscious beings, just like money itself is not. It's what you do with them.
Here are a couple games for you: 1) Take the letters of the alphabet, and assign a multiple of 6 to each, such that A=6, B=12, C=18...etc. Take the letters in "computer," and add them up.
2) Now, assign each letter of the alphabet to a multiple of 7, such that A=7, B=14, C=21...etc. Calculate the sum of the letters in "computer" again, and see what you get this time.
You should have gotten 666 and 777, respectively. If you assign each letter of the alphabet to a multiple of 1, you get 111, so it works both ways. Whether good or evil depends on what you use it for. ;) Salute!

Hi nayakoni07,
Thanks for your link. I'll take a look at it. Do you think the site is only discussing about Christianity? Because I would also like to discuss many things. Anyway, the site is a good beginning to find fellow Christians. Thanks again.

There might be a lot of people online and in the world that are bashing the all mighty GOD. But there are tens and thousands more who are grateful and rejoicing the miracles bless from GOD. We give thanks to the LORD for the air we breath for the sun that comes out for our love ones in our lives. We thank the Lord for everything and anything that comes our way. Here is one that is not bashing God but giving thanks to our Father for his love and patience. God Bless.

I hope so, cartoon4umaniacs. But the world is going to have less and less people who are grateful to God. It has been prophesied by the Bible.

I think people are so quick to blame God for everything that is wrong instead of looking at ourselves. I move a lot and find that religion is one thing that is constant and always there for me.
