My wife's an angel!!

Just a small update on my angel of a wife being a bone marrow donor for her brother......Well Wednsday is the day my wife goes for her physical, chest x-ray, and EKG for the University of Michigan Cancer Center Bone Marrow Donor program. It's being done at our local clinic. She also is going to have bllod drawn the same day. 8 tubes for various tests to be sure she is safe, healthy, and disease free at this time. We had a hard time at first but got a call this morning and it's going to be done at a hospital a few miles from our house. So this will all be faxed and or shipped same day air. Hopefully she will be in Michigan before the Holiday and return before it as well. She is nervous but is looking forward to saving her brothers life possibly. Thanks all for the prayers, thoughts, caring, and concern and support you've shown. It's all appreciated & my wife says thank you all also. Happy Holidays all.

We know your wife is an angel, Grandpa Bob. No need to tell us that. :-) Glad to hear she is nervous cause it means she knows she's her brother's savior. She's scared that her brother might not make it regardless. I've been praying he does make a complete recovery. To Grandma Deb...your very much welcome. Hang in there and tell your brother he has alot of ppl praying for him.

Her real fear is the airplane flight.
She has always hated flyinh. Hahahaha!

Then why can't she just drive there? I've never been on a plane and hope I never have to in the future. Maybe a sedative right b4 she leaves will help her.

Your wife is an angel! This is a great thing to be doing for her brother. The University of Michigan hospital is also a wonderful hospital. They really took care of my dad when he was ridden with his cancer. The doctors at that hospital really do know what they are doing. They kept my dad alive for years.

Yes it's the number one Hospital in the world for Marrow donors as well. Her brother has a severe case of leukemia and is not very well. In and out of the hospital and a coma for the past 4 months. Thanks.

Your wife is an angel, and brave too. I'm happy to hear that everything is falling into place for the procedure. Now maybe you'll be able to relax a little bit and be able to get through it with as little stress as possible. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

I know I have a younger brother that wopuld not do such a thing

your wife is really an angel. shallow as i am, i started crying. i am really touched because my brother has leukemia, too. there was a point in his life when he was almost gonna need bone marrow transplant and i am very much willing to be his donor is my bone marrow will be a match for him. i love my brother so much and i am willing to give anything for him just to extend his life. good thing is that after some weeks, he was able to recover slowly. years had passed and he's a lot better now even without the transplant. he still is very weak but he's much better now compared to before.
i salute your wife so much for the courage and for her love for her brother.

Don't feel bad for crying. I do that a lot. Of course not around ,my weife or kids. I am a man and..... HAHAHAHA! But I have cried a lot at nights as of late due to this and other events occuring in my life. Ugghh! Sigh!! HAHAHAHA!! Did you ever have the tests done to see if you are a match then? Thanks also.

What a wonderful act of kindness your wife is doing. Very commendable. I wish her the best of luck and her brother. I know everything happens for a reason and sometimes we have no clue what that is when we go through it, but in the end we do. I hope that your lives are truly blessed and she has been a blessing to her brother.

Your wife is an angel and a hero and you still torment her with hats. I am wrong. She is a saint-in-training.
Seriously, she is doing a wonderful thing, she is giving the gift of life and that should make her feel good. I have been in the Bone Marrow registry for about 10 years now and no hits yet.
I think that is one thing I would like to add to my to do list - donate bone marrow and make a difference.

She loves being tormented. By me anyhow. HAHAHA! She is doing a great service to her brother as well to possibly a total stranger in the future. A discussion along those lines was started by me recently. Thanks bunches also.

Give a hug to your wife for me as she is an angel..I'm glad things worked out where she can get all the testing and blood drawn in the same place as in one of your other discussions I seemed to remember there might have been a problem about that and then shipping the blood samples out?? I do hope all this can be done before the holidays...wouldn't that be a great Christmas gift??? My prayers are for both your angel wife and her brother (((hugs)))

The blood has not been done yet but it's looking good so far. Fingers crossed. Hee hee. No more rude people I think as well. Phew!! A relief to say the least. I have an update on her date thats been set.

hi webeishere.i must say your wife is really an angel.there are very few fortunate people in tihs world who do sometihng to others without expecting anything.your wife is one of those lucky person's.i wish everything would be done safely.your wife has done something really praised of to the society.this is real love.hats off to her.my best wishes are with all of you.happy holiday ot you as well.

Thank you very much. We hate to take money from her family for this but the cost is geting wild each passing day. They will be paying fro her flight and also for shipping these last 2 packages of blood samples.
