So, since my last laptop was stolen, I am considering buying a new one in about two months. I am doing some research online for a new one because I want to get a good one but try to be economical about it. I found one through Dell that I am leaning towards for less than $700 and it is pink! What are your opinions?

I know! I am going ga ga for everything pink right now. I even dyed my hair pink about a month ago. Plus, I like some of the specs that it is coming out with. My favorite feature right now is the integrated web cam!

Oh cool!!!
Yeah I love pink stuff. I love purple more but they're harder to come by!
I'd love to see some pics of your hair!

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you don't want to play games or something, maybe Asus Eee PC would be an option for you? You can see Asus's website for more info: http://eeepc.asus.com/en/product.htm
I know it's small and has small hard drive, but it's also light (under 1 kg) and may look quite cool. And it's new and now so expensive :D Think about it!

I actually checked out that one. I work with a bunch of computer geeks and a friend at work showed it to me. One of the advantages of working in technical support is the wealth of computer knowledge that I am surrounded by. It looks really cool and I like the fact that it is running Linux because I am beginning to get interested in Linux as an operating system. I would like to learn the OS sometime in the future. The only thing that I do not like about this laptop is the size of the hard drive simply because I would like to be able to have my music and movies on the hard drive.

I was looking at the Mac notebooks and unfortunately, they are a little outside my price range right now. I really like them because they are really simple to use but the fact that Windows Vista is very similar to the layout of a Mac and it is pretty simple to use.

Well, I believe that Dell is a good brand. YOu are rigt that we have to be practical in looking for things with good quality but economical. I am not good in saying which is better when it comes to laptop brand, but at least you could check your local stores there and ask them about that brand... also technicians.

hi sororravn.its sad to hear that your notebook was stolen.few months back i gifted a notebook to my hubby as well.i bought dell and i tihnk its really cool.he is veey satisfied with it.i guess you are looking for dell 1420 inspiron model.that's really cool .i was also first tihnking about it only but i got a higher model.furthermore dell gives you 3 year internation warranty, which is i guess the best point of buying it.for three long years you have a piece of mind.and after the resale value is still there.do go for dell.

Hi All! This is my eighth post in mylot discussions, and here goes . . .
DELL has so may options to give regarding laptops, not to mention that they are of good quality. DELL has inexpensive laptops with no OS installed, and you might want to give that a try. If you still have the OS CD from your stolen laptop, you can use that instead to be installed on your new laptop, saving you a few hundred dollars. :)
