The 2008 Olympics are in Beijing China, and across the world there have been Olympic Torch Relays held to bring light to the role China has played in the Darfur genocide.
While China hasn't actually killed anyone, they are Sudan's largest oil buyer, and their funds are then usd to buy weapons.
I'm not sure if it's fitting that a country with ties to a government in war with its people, should host the Olympics.
Maybe it's just me, but I have a problem with assisting attacks on innocent people.

I would have said no a few years ago. These days I think that the Olympics are just a corporate money grab. It is no longer the games of the amateur athletes and the world watches. Nowadays it is pro athletes and the countries with the money win. We have the winter Olympics coming to Vancouver in 2010 and the average person won't be able to afford the tickets. The highway up to the ski hill is being fixed so the Premier's rich friends can go skiing faster on the weekends. We have a highway on the island here that kills people on a weekly basis but alas the rich don't use it to go to their ski lodges so it won't be fixed so we can host the Olympics and the world. China may be horrible for human rights and their government guilty of a lot of atrocities but I don't think that any country is truly innocent. Money talks as far as the Olympic games go these days.

I don't know, the draw for the olympics are random, and they were done around 8 years ago, and China started building the stadiums in 2000, so it would be a serious economic waste to arbitrarily move the location.
Also, any country will always have some issue that people don't generally agree with. It's just sports, really.
