Do you make extra Money investing in Stocks?

If so what Stocks are good? I am interested in investing Stocks, can you tell me the good ones, My Husband has G.E. Stocks but it doesn't invest in it, he just gets a dividend every quarter, I think if he would of invest 30 yrs, ago he would be rich right now.

I have not much invested in stocks but i have invested in shares and i have started investing few months ago. recently i invested $350 which gained me $770
i am doing a short term investment. I'll later start long term investments.

We don't currently have any investments, though we keep saying we need to invest in a nappy company! lol.
