Did you try baby food?

I've always tried everything that I feed my daughter. Some people that I know will not even try them. My daughter is pretty good at eating. She is starting to get a little bit more picky so I mix some of her favorites with some of her least favorite foods. She really likes fruit (so do I). She likes some veggies but not all of them so I mix them with fruits. My favorite is Dutch Apple Desert. My daughter really likes that too and I know why. Do you have a favorite baby food? Did you mix them together so your child got veggies?

When I was a kid and got my tonsils taken out I ate a lot of Banana baby food. That was some good stuff. I was probably about 5 or 6 then. I haven't had baby food since. Sounds like they make some nice stuff these days if they have a dutch apple desert food!
So if you don't like it, would you still give it to your baby?

That's a great question raychill. I do give and buy my baby foods that I don't like. I don't like carrots but she loves them. Also she eats prunes...lol. I would never eat prunes. I'm a real picky eater and I hope I can help to be a better eater than myself. Thanks for the reply. Have a great day.

I know the banana custard is nice, just before my mother passed away no-one could get het to eat, the staff in the nursing home could not get her to eat anything, someone told me to try her on banana custard and I spoon fed her that and she actually would swallow it, but it was the only thing she would have...

I have tried baby food and other than the fruit I don't see how a baby can eat that stuff. My daughter just turned 10 months old and has refused to eat baby food since she was 7 months old. She eats all table food now. Some of her favorite foods are ones I cannot stand to eat.

I agree with you. I have tried the veggies and none of them taste all that good. I love green beans but the green beans in those jars do not taste like the green beans I eat. LOL. Have you ever smelled the peaches? They smell sooo bad....I really don't like feeding them to my daughter but she likes them. It's funny how kids eat foods that we don't like. But it's good that you let her explore her own likings. Great job. Have a good day.

I tried and still do try everything that my toddler eats or drinks. I think it makes you more understanding for those times when they won't eat a certain food. Because if we think it tastes horrible then can we blame them for not wanting to eat it. It's a good idea of yours mixing favourite and non favourite food together.

I made 90% of the baby food my son ate ...so yes, I tried because I cooked it. He was a really good eater and ate just about everything I made.
He absolutely hated the baby food (strained meats) and most of the veggies, which I why I started making my own.

When I was a teenager a friend of mine loved to eat baby food. She told me about it one day. She claimed it was really good! Well I didn't believe her, I thought this food looked rather gross. LOL We went to a store and she bought a jar. She ate it while we walked back to her mom's. I cringed the whole way and we both laughed (I laughed at her for eating baby food, she laughed at me for finding it so disgusting :P LOL).
My kids never had the jarred baby food, but if they had I would have tested it before giving it to them to make sure it was okay for them to eat it.

Now a days they make alot more different types of babyfoods when my girls were babies Gerber was the only one that I remember but I did try everything I feed them and sometimes didn't like it but they loved it all 3 loved the Blueberry Buckle and I am not sure you can even find that anymore I know Walmart don't carry it I just looked out of curiosity when I was picking up food for my granddaughter I was shocked to see all the varities as you do I would mix the fruit and veggies sometime to get them to eat it and then one day they may not eat certain things then the very next day they would, so maybe retry things that last week she didn't like because this week she might. Have a great day

I tried my son's baby food when he was eating it. It was so awful. But he ate most of it. He loved the orange and yellow veggies (sweet potato, carrot, squash, etc). He also didn't mind peas, but everything else veggie-wise was rejected. So was all of the stage 2 stuff with meat. He loved the spaghetti in stage 2 (or was it 3), and spaghetti is still one of his absolute favorite meals. The fruit he never had an issue with at all. There was a blueberry one that he loved most. Which is funny since we found otu later that a blueberry babyfood was his DAD's favorite when HE was a baby.

Haha Try it? In High School me and my best friend use to eat it! All the time!! LOL Just the fruit ones, no veggies or meats. I really dont remember why we used to eat it, its been so long ago, but we did on the regular too. It must have tasted good, I cant remember the name of the one that I liked the best but it was like a mix of stuff with some tapioca pudding in it. I remember it tasted really good when you got it super cold in the fridge.
Im sure that the Dutch Apple Dessert tastes pretty good too. I wouldnt know, Ive not eaten it since I was in High School, but if I have kids someday I will be sure and try it!
