Its also for everyone else who needs a smile. I just recieved this in an email from my uncle, I just had to share it. I hope it brightens your night or day.
WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT? (taken from papers written by a class of 8-year-olds)
Grandparents are a lady and a man who have no little children of her own.
They like other people's.
Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see
them.
They are so old they shouldn't play hard or run. It is good if they drive us
to the shops and give us money.
When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves
and caterpillars.
They show us and talk to us about the color of the flowers and also why we
shouldn't step on "cracks."
They don't say, "Hurry up."
Usually grandmothers are fat but not too fat to tie your shoes.
They wear glasses and funny underwear.
They can take their teeth and gums out.
Grandparents don't have to be smart. They have to answer questions like "why
isn't God married?" and "How come dogs chase cats?".
When they read to us, they don't skip. They don't mind if we ask for the same
story over again.
Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have
television because they are the only grown ups who like to spend time with
us.
A 6 year old was asked where his grandma lived. ''Oh,'' he said, ''she lives
at the airport and when we want her we just go get her. Then when we're done
having her visit, we take her back to the airport.''
Grandpa is the smartest man on earth! He teaches me good things but I don't
get to see him enough to get as smart as him!
It's funny when they bend over, you hear gas leaks and they blame the dog.

I have been here over a year and I still have to check in most days and keep track of my friends. I did put you down for a friends request. It would be nice to get to know you better. I have some really nice people on my list. Take and hope to see you around.

That is great! I love being a Grandparent. My grandson has began to say "I have a pinecone" when he poops his pants. I have no idea where he got that from. LOL

I love being a gramma too, one of the great joys in life. Tonight I was a brave (or nutty) gramma. I let my 3 grandsons, ages 9,7 and 2 (almost 3), make their own pizzas for dinner. They did it all by them self too. Of course I was there to help and offer advice, they did the work. They spread the oil on the pan, spread out the pizza dough, they spread the sauce around and then they each put what ever toppings they wanted. They even put them in the oven, I took over there and made sure they didn't burn. Then they each got to eat their own pizza. they did a good job too. I like to do special things with the grandkids. My son watches me sometimes with a smile on his face. I tell him I am sorry, he says for what. I tell him I am sorry for not doing some of the special things with him.
That is so funny about your grandson, the "pinecone". Maybe it felt like a pinecone coming out, hehe.

Polly this is really cute..The kids always watch everything we do,and they do not mind asking why you do it.haha...Mine can ask a million questions and when you tell them something they never forget. One day i was riding in the back seat with my granddaughter, she was very young , and she looked at my hands , then up to my face, suddenly she ask me " grandma how come your hands look so old and your face looks young? They also say things like , grandma you are old, and i say how old do you think i am , and they oh about 30 years old haha...I say really and she said yes and that is really old...I love it when you give them a $10.00 bill and they say,I want a lot of money, and i can pull out 3 one dollar bills and they say ,yes i want 3 instead of one..They can really come up with some funny stuff.

Since I have my little guy (he will be 3 in a few months) living with me. I am entertained daily, I wouldn't trade it for nothing. He is always telling me "gramma I love you". I am grammasmagic elseware on the internet, the kids helped me come up with that name. they say I am "magic". My one grandson says I am not old, he has friends with moms who are older then I am. We grammas can do no wrong, everything we do is right. Its a joy to be a gramma, I love it. The teenagers still like coming over, staying the night and just hanging out with the gramma. My grandson is going to give me lots of money when his dad gets rich, hehe. As you can tell I am a proud gramma.

This not only brought a smile to my face but a good hardy chuckle. I love it. I have three grandkids of my own and love the heck out of them. But they sure can say the darndest things some times.
