Hey Everyone! This year buying HANDMADE is the thing to do! Its time for independent artists out there trying to make it, to have a chance! Not only am I selling my own handmade items(jewelry, handpainted terracotta pots and hand drawn Christmas Cards!), but I have bought handmade Christmas presents for about 4 people in my family so far! I would rather contribute to those like me, who work VERY hard on their stuff, than to contribute to a big department store who is worth tons. Anyone else out there buying handmade this year?

I think this is a very good idea.I love homemade things and i love to create.I am already an artist as far as drawing, painting etc.I have already did an oil painting for each of my children, but not this year.I really just got lazy and bought all my gifts...

I like this idea and I know a lot of other people on mylot do as well, they just haven't run across this discussion. If you run into a poster named Laurika, she was asking about this herself. I sent you that discussion, but you probably didn't know why I sent it and it was several weeks ago. This year most of the presents I got for others was with the points and rewards I earned over this past year. If I have money next year I want to look into artists who are trying to make a living doing their own work. I couldn't even afford to sent Christmas cards this year (so I sent e-cards), but next year I know who I'm going to be checking out. : )
