What does myLot points do and what are they used for? Do they have anything to do with your earnings?

If you're talking about the numbers enclosed inside the parenthesis, they are the one's that tells you the amount of posts you've made as you participate and join discussions.
They also have something to do with your earnings, since if they decrease or you lose a point, it means that a post you made or participated with has been deleted. In case this happens, your earnings and ratings will be affected too -depending on the points you've lost.
