To wake you up in the morning? I use to when I was a teenager and going to school. Now that Im old I wake up automatically usually around the same time every morning. I can remember my aunt saying to me when I was younger someday you wont need that alarm clock. I thought she was crazy. I guess she new what she was talking about. Share with me alarm clock or automatic? And no the kids waking you up doesnt count!LOL

Well I do and I dont. I dont often have to get up early inwhivh case I set my mobile to wake me up. Other days I use my son as an alarm clock. He never sleeps late so as soon as he wakes up he jumps on me and yells WAKE UP or Wake up Jeff (from the weegls). I still cant figure aut where the snooze is on that alarm clock. It used to be the tv just walk there turn it on and go back to bed but he decided that is just much more fun jumping on mum and dad.

Ahhhhahahaha!...Oh, do I remember years ago thinking everybody was crazy that woke up early...like, what are you doing??????
Yes, now the old body just wakes me up early in the morning without any type of alarm clock. And yes, usually at the same time. I get so aggravated because it's hours before I have to go to work too, ugh! I even try to stay up later but it still doesn't work, lol!

Not me, I think I could sleep for 12 hours easily if I did not have my cell phone to wake me up. My meds are powerful.

LOL gone are the days when my son use to wake me up. Now that he is 5 he's the last one that gets up every morning. I have to use an alarm clock and now that I work part time I have to get up a little earlier to get things ready for my son and hubby and then get myself ready.

I use my alarm clock only on the day I have to go to work to make sure I don't get up late. Since that's basically the only day I have a set time to wake up the rest of the week I just wake up on my own.

Hi Terry,
I think I'm going to need it and then I end up waking up on my own before it goes off. lol I just fear that I wont so I set in just in case. Seems like if I have a reason to get up I have an eternal clock or something. Maybe it's maturity that wakes us up. As younger people we really dont hold that quality like we do now. Then we didn't know the importance or something. I don't know. lol

Normally I wake up at 6am every day. If I have to wake before that, then I have to depend on alarm clock.

I'm 34 and still needs an alarm clock, be it human or machine alarm!:P I sleep late for what seems like everyday of my life eversince I was young, so the tendency is for me to wake up late always unless I have something important to attend to the next day. I was never a morning person. I always enjoy doing stuff at night time, and is more productive during the wee hours. I can't wait for the day to come when I'll wake up early automatically, just like the seniors in my house does. =)

Well i do use an alarm clock but most of the times i wake up before it goes of.
But you're right when i was younger i needed it more than now.Though i never had problems with getting up.
Now i'm older i'm awake easier than in my teenage years.
Now i wake up by the light because i have the philips wake up alarm clock. So no annoying wake up alarm anymore.

I always get up from bed with alarm clock. Sometimes I just instictivly press the trun off button and then I am late for school. I usually get up at 6:50 every morning to get ready for school, but I am not accustomed to do it so I have to use alarm.

Well, you may think I count as a kid, but I don't have the whole school thing or anything right now. I have to have an alarm clock and sometimes that doesn't even work. I've turned it off a few times and not remembered doing it! I think maybe if I had a normal sleep schedule I might not need one, but my sleeping habits...aren't normal. I usually sleep like 7am to 12 or 1 pm. Sometimes I get less sleep, and others I go to bed early and get more sleep. I mean, it's 6:30 am right now and I haven't been to bed yet. Maybe one day I won't need an alarm clock, which would be awesome, but for now, it's a necessity.

Hi,Terry! Well,I used to have an alarm clock when I was very young:) Then when I was a little bit older,my mum became my clock. She usually asked me to get up.LOL! But there were also some days that I get up automatically.I guess that's the cycle of the body:) Nowadays I need to get up very early every morning cause my company is somehow far from my house. So I use my cell phone as the alarm to wake me up in the morning. I wanna sleep too much in the morning recently so I really can't get up just by myself.LOL! Thanks for the discussion and good day^_^

Oh definitely I would need an alarm and even if I'm already using one, I still have to fight with it in the morning. Talk about setting several alarms just to wake up. I'm kinda sleepyhead who would rather stay up late at night and wouldn't want to stand up early in the morning. That's why I like weekends because then I can sleep longer. The only disadvantage is that I won't be able to do things which can only be done when there's daylight.

it depends ... sometimes i have a very sound sleep, then i need to put on the alarm clock to get up on time.but at other times when i have light sleep then i wake up on evry little sound ,even on the drop of a leaf... but as the safety caution/measure i always keep my alarm clock beside my pillow so that i don't get late for office.but when i have a holiday & on weekends if i don't have anything urgent to do then i never put the alarm on & provide myself the luxury of sleeping till late.i normally like to put the alarm clock on in my mobile/cell phone itself instead of the table clock or any other alarm clock device ...

well I guess this happens to everyone. When you are young and without any responsibilities, the brain tends to relax too. But now I am in similar situation as your aunt and I wake up around 5 every morning to prepare my son for school. Even then I keep an alarm clock ready by my bedside coz any day I never know I may oversleep due to fatigue and in the morning rush hour, a gap of 10/15 mins does make a lot of difference.

I definitely need an alarm clock to wake me up on the mornings I need to be somewhere. Weekends and what not, I'm usually woken up on my own time, which is often late but I never have anywhere to be. On some days, I get woken up by alarm a few hours before I need to get up and then fall back to sleep for a few hours and wake up about an hour or so before I need to be in class which gives me plenty of time to get ready and go.

I usd to have alarm clock to wake me up in the morning but now my body already have this automatic alrm and I just wake up early int he morning. I find it hard to wake up early before coz I sleep late in the evening, i have tried to change it and I have found the secret, resting early could help us wake up early and do things early. Maybe it what they call lifestyle, its something that is part of you and will not be taken by anybody.

Hi TerryZ! I still used the alarm clock but not the table top kind of thing but the one in the cel phones. hehe..However, i used to get up long before the clock does its work in waking me up. LOL! I guess, i have my own body clock. I get up the same time every morning on regular days. So, i guess it's true that your aunt really knows what she was talking about then. haha..Take care and have a nice day.

Sounds like me - I automatically wake at 5am - give or take 10 minutes either way! Like clock work! But some days I have to be up to get my GD when my daughter drops her off before work, so I just use my cell phone alarm just in case and the ring is "thank god for kids" song so I wake to what I do every day - thank god for my kids!

Good day !dear friend.I need a alarm clock to wake me up ,or I would miss the time .But ,I still find if I keep the waking time for a time ,I can get up automatically too.
I think what you said is right, for my grandmother gets up the same time everyday ,and very early .This should because of the biological clock of ourselves.
