What is your ideal pet ?

Hi guys, I used to have a pet parrot, while i was a boy. I liked it very much, but one day I forgot to close the door and a cat came and ate it.... Ever since i hate cats, but some people really love cats.. i think birds would be better pets than dogs or cats because they would create lot of mess around your house !! So what do you think would make an ideal pet for you???
