books against internet

It was observed that most people (young and old) nowadays are no longer into reading books. They prefer to visit sites in the internet. Now, would this phenomenon affect our reading comprehension as well as our interest towards reading books? Which is better, when it comes to research works, term papers and assignments, the internet or books? Please share your views on this argument.

Books will still be made and produced in the future. I say even in 500 years books will still be made and produced. I say the internet because it is easier to find information then a book.
