I personally have always had a real pine tree for my christmas holidays. This is mine and my fiances first christmas in our new home and the discussion has already aroused of whether to get an artifical tree or to get a real one. He has had artificial trees his entire life, while i have had real trees. So far we have decided to get a real tree for our holiday. So do you get an artifical tree or a real tree for your christmas holiday, and why? Would you ever consider doing the opposite one year?

Anyrthing can be done out of a Christmas tree. It can be plastic or it can be real, and the thing is the spirit of Christmas is right there.

That is defiantly true, a tree can be made out of anything. As long as the christmas spirit is there is all that really matters in the end.

I like a real tree. We had an artifical tree but my dog detroyed it. I guess she didn't like it because she's never bothers a real tree. We want to go to a U-cut or just go into the woods and find and cut down outr own tree this year. I think it will be a nice tradition to start.

We have a new puppy so i'm hoping that he will stay away from our real tree. Our older dog seems to be fine around them so hopefully our puppy will be just as successful.

I live with my parents, we always used to have a real tree. But now we have a cat and they are a little older they don't want the hassle of the pine needles falling off and need clearing up. I must admit when i get my own place i will always have a real one because you cannot beat the smell of the tree and there is something a little more special of choosing your tree each year. I think once your Fiance sees how much nicer it is to have a real one he will want one every year. Who knows when you have children it's more fun going out with them to choose the real one.

My partner and I always decorate the house with holly, ivy and mistletoe but we also have a small tree. This year we will bring the tree in from the back garden in it's pot and put it in the window.

In parents house we have had always a real one. Because i think ti is big different if you have a real one or jusr artificial. the smell the look is totally different. yeah maybe today they have on the market those artifical trees, which look better and maybe like a real one,but where is the smell? Yeah maybe I would consider to have a opposite one year, but probably when I will be really old.

I agree i love that pine smell throughout the house. I think that sweet aroma makes up for all the needles that may fall off. lol.

I would get a real tree, for if many people choose artifical trees, there will be left a lot of garbage that makes pollution.i love my wife, and our love is true,so i should choose a real tree for our Xmas.surely ,a real tree will cost me more money ,but it reprsent purity\hearthy\and many good things.so for our enviroment and our ture feeling ,let's get real trees instead of artifical trees.

I prefer fake. It's safer, it's better for the environment because you're not chopping down trees, and it really keeps your home cleaner than real trees do. You don't have to worry about having pine needles all over the house, or your pets getting into the water for the tree. I would not consider doing the opposite. I'm happy with our fake tree.

For years we had an artifical tree but last year i started to say to my mother that i rather have a real tree then an artifical.Just because i think it looks better and it's easier. We throw the tree after christmas outside and others pick it up. So this year i want to have a real tree too.

i do prefer a real tree but went out and got a fake one this year. life being so busy, i really don't have time for a real one and the pine needles and all. actually we just set it up this week and it looks pretty real.

If there are abundant trees that can be used as christmas tree then use it as your christmas tree. After the season, then we can return the tree to where it belong. But if there is no source for a real tree, then make use of the artificial one. Anything that will make us happy to celebrate christmas then we do it. It is only once a year celebration but for me I want christmas to be celebrated everyday. Happy Holidays.

I would love to try to have real tree for Christmas, since here in the Philippines you will rarely see a real tree for xmas tree or maybe we actually don't use real tree here.

i actually really love the way that a real tree makes your home feel "christmas-y". however, i have an artificial tree that my husband and i have been using for the past four years. i found out the hard way when i was thirteen that i'm allergic to the real thing. i was stringing the lights with a cousin of mine and my arms brushed up against the tree. in minutes, my arms were covered in a rash. it was pretty nasty. but, if i wasn't allergic, i think that we would probably get a real one.

in my opinion, both of artificial tree and real tree are ok.because the technology is better day by day, workers can make the artificial trees as real trees, maybe you can not tell the differece between them. But if we talk about how to protect environment, maybe we should get the artificial one,it can be used for many years.we can save the real trees at the same time.
