Many people are in denial about global warming. The debate is over and everyone is in agreement that global warming is happening. The problem is getting people to take action, until it directly starts to effect people they choose to ignore it. Unfortunately if people wait too long it will be too late to do anything about it.
We need more people like yourself to help educate people via the internet and great sites like Mylot. Sadly there are a minority on this site who believe that global warming is a fruad by the US government! These same people probably also believe in alien abductions!

I couldn't agree more and while I'm no scientist and there are lots of things about this issue I don't understand I've seen it explained in simple enough terms to know we're going to be in serious trouble if we don't start taking this threat seriously! To those who continue to insist global warming isn't a serious problem and/or humans didn't cause it and can't do anything to stop or prevent it, wouldn't you rather err on the side of caution? The thaw of the Arctic waters is getting dramatically worse every year. Isn't that enough to scare you? I know it does me!

Yes, it is scary but I strongly believe that we can prevent disaster if we take a small amount of action now.
Regardless of global warming we should be reducing the amount of pollution and waste we produce anyway. We don't know when to oil wil run out as the middle east will not give us accurate figures, but we do know that it WILL run out. There is also the huge security issue in that we are dependant on the middle east for oil and Russia (in the UK) for gas.
I'm also not a scientist, but anyone with some common sense can see that we are going to be in trouble soon.

Well raydene i do accept your views.Global warming has been a major trouble.Climatic changes have been occuring and its high time the governments take measures to prevent this earth from disintergrating into the so called hell.not only the governments but every individual should think of this and will need to act for conservation of mother nature.................

I'm sure not living with a false sense of security, Raydene! There are those that are going to believe what they want to believe no matter what how many studies point to global warming existing and being caused at least in part by humans they will choose to believe those that show the opposite. I'm not a scientist and nothing would please me more than to find out it was all a hoax and none of these terrible things are going to happen but I've always believed in erring on the side of caution so I think we should all help take care of our Earth. It's the only one we have and I'd like to think it will still be here for my grandkids and their grandkids!

Can anyone tell me what the temperature increase was for the last decade?
I don't know about global warming. And maybe this is where people get confused. Either it is happening or it is not. Humans think it has to be one or the other. Well I think they are wrong.
What I have noticed is a change in the weather. I work outside. Last year was mild. There were far less days in the 90 degree range than in prior years. Plants have been blooming earlier. But does that mean global warming?
Does anyone know that global warming precedes global cooling? We should also be preparing to go through that stage. What if we get killer frosts several times throughout the year? How are we going to feed 6 billion people? The only way I know is cannibalism.
If you ask me global warming is the least of my worries. I want to know how are they going to clean all of the medicine out of the water supply? What happens when humans ruin the Earth beyond repair?
I can say that humans can live underground if it gets too hot during the day. But I can't say that our synthetic medicines destroying the water will allow anything to grow or live.
