I indeed love to write. It is one of my goals to write a book. Sharing one's work with others is one step closer to achieving that goal. I have joined an online writing community, to be able to gauge what others think about one's work. It's a wonderful site where you can post your writings and get critiqued for them. There are also classes and contests you can join. Let me know if you're interestred and I'll PM you the site.

I have always wanted to write a novel, I even wrote 2 when I was a teenager.Never published anything of course. Now when I read those novels they look so simple and childish...but I was a child. I had several good ideas for writing in last couple of years but I have to finish university first and then I'll dedicate myself to writing. I was reading James Joyce's Ulysses today and there was this sentence about sand and how it's useless because you can't grow anything in it. I know that Joyce is one of the fathers of modern literature and that with his way of writing he tried to make the reader more involved in reading and more active but I prefer the common way of writing. As I said I told myself I would write when I finish University but sometimes I feel like I can't write any more, my style got so bad...or maybe it was always bad but as I study English literature after reading many very good books I find everything I write very bad. Did you decide about the topic of your novel? I had common life in mind...That's the only thing I would take from Joyce.

I'm also just finishing up my novel for the NaNoWriMo challenge. If you're really interested in writing a novel, I think you should check out the nano site for next year. It's a big challenge, but it's well worth it. This challenge is to write 50,000 or more in the month of November. I'm almost done with a total so far of just of 48,000 and will finish it up either later tonight or tomorrow. It's no where near being ready to publish, but it's written and that's the hardest part. If you really want to write a novel, just do it. Don't stop to edit yourself until you're all finished. This is my 4th novel I've written, though I've never had any of them published. I encourage you to stop thinking about it and just do it. Create your characters, plot out your story base, and let your creativity fly. Good Luck!!!

When I was a teenager I thought I would be a great writer. I had tons of great ideas. I also wrote one complete story. I tried to get it published but had no luck. You see most publishers do not look at unpublished writers seriously. I got return to sender and just rejected. I guess my ideas for a good book was not any one elses idea. I also gave up after finding that it is easy to have ideas it is not so easy to get them on paper. The spelling and punctuation must be just right. I am not that great with either. My daughter is taking college courses in English so she can be a writer. I hope she has better luck than I did. Who knows maybe some day I will try my hand again.

Hi,there! I tried to write a novel when I was in high school but I didn't realize it. I always think it's good to write a nice story and share it with many people. I was thinkin about writing stories about people around me or even myself.I don't need to write everything true, maybe I just mix them together. That would be very interesting, wouldn't it? I still have the thought of writing a medium novel but I don't know exactly where to start. Hopefully I can find the line and then start writing sth:) Thank you for the discussion and have a nice day:)

Yes, Infact, I am in the process of writing the 3rd one. I completed two in a little over 2 years. Then, I stopped after I finished the second one, well I would not say stopped , more of ~hesitated~ to make a 3rd one.

As far as I can remember I have not made or even attempted making novels, I have already made a poem out of the abunance of my heart and I gues it was not really that good. I dont have a way with words and its just a dream, im one of those hopeless romantics and one of those frustrated writers. I hope some day I can make a novel of my own life.
