Are you a good pedestrian?

We have a few bad crosswalks in this town. It is dark when I drive to work in the morning now that winter is coming and most days it seems to rain. The other morning I am driving to work in the rain with a motorcycle tailgating me. I come up on this really dark crosswalk and this woman dressed all in black and her hood up. As we are almost on top of her before we see her we had to keep going and not stop. Had I stopped it would have caused an accident. I know she was in a crosswalk and I should have stopped but the fact was I didn't see her till I saw a white bony finger shoot up into the air at me. Keeping things like this in mind I walk and watch. I realize drivers can't always see me and try to always be aware of what is going on around me. I know if it was between me and a car the car would win. I used to wear a walk man when I walked but then realized how dangerous it is to have one of your senses removed when you should be aware of the world around you. I consider myself a pretty good pedestrian, how about you?

I think I'm a pretty good pedestrian. I'm polite and aptient in waiting for cars to pass. I do jay-walk sometimes, but never at risky times.

I believe I'm a good pedestrian as I use the zebra crossing whenever there is one or a walk-on bridge to cross the road. And I always, without fail, press on the button for pedestrians before crossing the road.I'll always wear bright clothes whenever I take the public transport whenever it's dark.

Yes, i am a good pedestrian. With the traffic and the kind of drivers that we have, we must be a good pedestrian. Even if you have the traffic lights on red light see to it that there are no vehicles approaching, there are drivers who dont follow traffic rules and regulations. To be safe follow and use pedestrian lane, look at traffic lights and see to it that the street is clear for safe passage.
