Managing Stress as a Student

I am a sophmore in college, and my freshman year was actually pretty laid back, nothing too stressful, but this semester is killing me. I have homework and projects all the time and I'm a type A person so I get very stressed about everything. I don't think I have ever worked so hard, or been sick so many times (with colds) in such a short period. I usually micromanage my time and I'm not a procrastinator but I'm always looking for ways to manage or reduce my stress that don't take up a lot of time. How do you de-stress?

I am a 30 year old perpetual student. Currently I am working full time and pursuing my second masters degree. This type of stress is normal. You have to prioritize, which it sounds like you already do. You can only work on one thing at a time, try not to get overwhelmed. Find some ways to de-stress. Try to schedule a night off and spend some time with friends not thinking about school, or spending some alone time. This will make you much more productive in the long run. Finally, you will have to get used to it...life is tough, and this is the beginning. Learn to love it, embrace it, and good things will come to you. I hope this helps!!

Maybe you need to make some time to do things just for you. I write to keep stress down, as well as other hobbies. I'm hoping to start my course in the next couple of years, and if I can put into place my coping measures now, I ,know that the course work will be more enjoyable and a breeze. You are too young to have your head explode from too much thinking about study!

exercise will always lower your stress levels and make you more relaxed. it helped me a whole lot as a student, and now even with a regular job. your body releases hormones that make you happy, give you more energy, and make you feel overall better

Stop wasting time trying to earn measly pennies on mylot and get to work! Also, finding a sport you really enjoy will be great. Eating healthy also helps!
