Dress up or down for class

I'm one of those college studuents who never really cares what they look like when they go to class. I have early classes and usually just opt for the sweatpants or the outfit I threw together in 5 minutes. I notice, however, that in my early 8 o'clock classes there are girls in high heels with put together outfits and nice makeup that had to have taken sometime meaning they woke up pretty early to get ready. This usually makes me feel pretty gross in comparsion but I don't think I could ever be that motivated. Do you take the time to look nice before you go to class?

I am the last person to care what I look like to go to school. I dont go in my pajamas because that would be too crazy. I also see those girls with the high heeled shoes and tight jeans and a fresh fac eof make up on. I dont know how they do it but they do. My reason for not dressing was because I commute to school and live about 45 min away. So, I refuse to wake up so early to look great for people. But, If you live relatively close or on campus I guess that it could be easier to to this

I have to tell you when i first started going to school i wore my pjs to class. i had those early classes where you dont even want to be out of bed yet. So i would get up just in time to go to class. But know that i have to drive to school i at least dress better then my pjs. Even though it seems like a good idea at times. Its not really hard to through together an outfit. But i dont feel the reason to wear make up or high heels. But i also dont want to fall and break my neck first thing in the morning either. So do not feel bad about not dressing up for class. You are still young enjoy not dressing up. Some day i bet you will have to.I hope this helps.

I wear the same thing I wear shopping, or to the grocery store. Jeans and a shirt. I can't imagine going to class in either pajamas OR heels.

I am taking online classes now, so i'm always in my pj's. But when i was taking normal classes, I would dress as comfortable as possible. I didn't wear pajamas, but I would normally wear jeans and a tee shirt. One of mybest friends tho, is one of those girl who wakes up at 6, to get ready for an 8 o'clock class, heels, makeup, hair and all.

You know the old saying "Dress for the job you want."? Well I dont believe in that. I could stay at home in my in my sweats answering customer service calls and work just as hard as I would if I was all dressed up in an office somewhere. I feel when you are learning something new it is a good idea to be as comfortable as possible. If you are uncomfortable you will not be able to pay as close attention.

I could never understand how someone could wear sweats to class. I understand you guys don't care and all and want to wear something comfortable but still! While I don't wear heels or make up to class I still wears jeans and a matching shirt. Mostly Tees. I wear a clean white pair of sneakers and take care of my hair. The whole process doesn't take more than a half hour and if you don't even have that much time to look decent thats sad. I guess I got so used to it since middle school that I do things a lot faster and I can visualize exactly what I am going to wear. I have early classes also, but it doesn't matter to me. I have to look presentable in front of others.

Yes I always look my best. You have to remember that you never know who your going to run into, especially at a college. The first impression means a lot. There may be some internship/work opportunities available to you...and if people think your a slob I think you would be less likely to get them. Especially if you are compared to the ladies that look presentable. So really it is up to you. I know when I was getting my associates, how we dressed was part of our grade. At the BA and MA levels it still is. It doesnt matter what time class is, you better look like your going to work. Maybe it depends on the profession your going into..but somewhere and at sometime there is always someone to impress. I would rather be safe than sorry. And in most cases your going to have to be at work in the morning, so it is a good idea to get a jump on the preperations. :) Have a good one.

In most cases, I dress down and prefer to dress comfortably. I want to be able to move quickly. I would like to look good, but only in occassions that I really need to dress up then I would do so. However, if I have to do it everyday, I probably won't be the one who would wake up really early in order to go through the process, but of course, I like to look good. Feeling comfortable and appropriately that will make myself deserving with the way I present myself is how I want to be viewed more! Maybe we can dress up once a week for a change (^_^)

When getting ready for a class, I do spend a lot of time preparing. But I actually don't spend the entire time styling my hair or putting a full make up on! I'd say, 2-3 hours would include eating, all the usual morning rituals, shower and finally, dressing up. It really depends on my mood whether I would dress up or down. There are times that I prefer to be casual wearing sneakers nd a shirt/tank top or be prim and proper by wearing preppy clothes, etc. I would have to say that I dress in clothes that are comfortable and appropriate for class. I just don't get it why you would go to a 1-2hour class looking like there's a party? It's just funny! I think, taking the time to look nice and pretty isn't bad at all, just make sure you look appropriate and feel comfortable in the clothes that you're wearing.
