online shopping vs traditional shopping

i used to be a really impulsive shopper. whenever i got my paycheck, i would make sure that my bills got paid and then i would set aside money to go shopping. when i would get bored, i would head out to whatever store i felt like going to and just buy something random. sometimes i wouldn't even need anything. the one thing about shopping though, is that i HATE to go in the mall. all the people, the lights, the smells, the annoying salespeople... no thank you.
when i realized how much this got on my nerves, i started to online shop. it's convenient because a lot of the stores that i like to go to like victoria's secret never have my size in the things that i want. it was just so frustrating! i can usually find what i'm looking for. and being online really gives you the opportunity to bargain shop without the exhausting store-to-store trek.
do you think that online shopping will eventually get rid of the need for traditional shops?

Hi,
I hope it is like practical experience with theoretical experience. In my opinion traditional shopping is much safer compared to online as the customer could get a direct outlook of the product. If the product is not in good condition brought through online one could find it difficult to return. Yet certain rare products can be brought through online and also more journey is avoided. Still I hope to go for shopping some finds it more interested.

traditional shops still serve it's purpose. Alot of shoppers would like to feel and touch before purchase. Furthermore although it is convenient, would it not be very dull to do online shopping compare to going to the malls and experience the crowds?

No, I don't think that online shopping will ever get rid of traditional shops, but I do believe that more and more people are starting to buy things online. I'm starting to switch to shopping online since I found out I can get paid for it :)
The reason that I don't think online shopping will ever completely replace traditional shops is because there will always be people without computers or internet. Also, there will still always be people that don't trust shopping online or just don't like the internet.
Overall, though, I think trend in online shopping is definately growing and will continue growing.

I don't think that the online shopping would eventually replaces the traditional shopping. There are still many obstacles that the online shopping needs to address before it can replace the traditional shopping. One of the obstacles would be allowing the buyer to choose the best product out of the stock. For example, when we buy our clothes, we would go through a few samples before choosing the best out of that samples. Another thing that need to be seriously considered is that not everyone can afford or have access to the internet. Until such facilities are made available to all, the traditional shops are here to stay.

At this time when almost everything can be possibly done over the internet, on-line shopping is really the in-thing for shopping fanatics. But being so, i don't think it will ever replace the traditional shopping that most of us had gotten used to. Despite the convenience offered by on-line shopping, I'd still prefer going to malls and bazaars just to shop. Nothing can compare to the satisfaction of being able to scrutinize with your own bare hands the product you want to buy before actually paying for it. One best example for this is buying clothes wherein fitting is one crucial thing necessary when shopping for it. And besides, going to the mall serves as stress buster for me so i'll be doing my shopping this way often.

I do think that online shopping wouldn't get rid of the traditional way of shopping. Personally, I'd like to take myself on a retail therapy every once in a while. I never really tried shopping online coz I could never decide on what I want until I really get to see the product in front of me. Sometimes pictures can be really misleading and of course, its often that eventhough the clothes look good on the model, it will not mean that they can look good on you too. Traditional shopping on the other hand lets you test on the product before you can buy them. I just prefer seeing and testing what I would buy first before I hand on the cash. I'm not really against the idea of online shopping, I do understand that for some people, this type of shopping is more convenient and more comfortable.

I don't think online shopping can totally replace traditional shopping because a lot of people don't have credit cards, and a lot of other people don't have access to the internet either. I am personally not much of an online shopper even if I'm on the net almost every day and even if I do have a credit card. I actually like going in and out of stores, walking around, even if I'm not going to actually buy anything. Sometimes though, if there's something expensive that I want, I go online and compare prices at different stores, then I would personally go to the store that has the best price. I also do online shopping for stuff that's rare, like old books that can go into a collection that I already have. But for clothes and other stuff like that, I still prefer going into the store and trying things on because I never really know what my size is.

well i never tink that online shopping can get rid off the tradional shopping.i love buying thigs online and within tihs year i got really costly things from online shopping only.though the fear of giving the credit card number is there but i normally pay.nothing bad till now has happened to me.god forbid in future.this is one of disadvatages of online shopping.also most of the people love to see the products they are going to buy their own eyes, which is ont the case in online shopping.futhermore computer and internet is ont available with everybody.however i guess online shopping is more those who are very busy kinds cannot find time to go to the mall.

I love on-line shopping. I don't make impulse buys and can compare prices. Check out sites that show codes for discounts and free shipping. I still like to shop for clothes though so I can try things on but if they don't have my size I just check online for the item I saw in a store and get it then.

Online shopping is really convenient and fun at the same time.Majority still goes to the mall on their spare time. As for me I was addicted to online shopping, I loved it but hate it at the same time hahah... I get paid every friday then straight to clothes, lingeries, dvds, books, computer accessories and sometimes mobile phones. piece of cake is it! no sweat! what i hate about it is before weekend comes my money's gone.. But i cant blame myself, onlyshi's right who would like the idea of going to the mall, shop with other people in a crowded stores, clothes shop and jewelries.Sometimes you'll even bump to a person (not being mean) but some have a body odor. To top it all you walk looking for that top you wanted so bad but shops dont have the size that suits for you. Tiring!
Well I admit online shopping is convenient but there are disadvantages. Traditional shopping can be really tiring with all the walking and carrying paper bags but at least there's always a self-control not to spend your money!lolz
