Since the retirement of Lloyd Carr, there has been much speculation on the new coaching position. Many college football coaches see the Michigan job as one of the premier positions in the country. For the first time in 40 years, the coaching position is clearly open with many possible candidates. The clear front runner is LSU's head coach, Les Miles, who is a truly Michigan man. Met his wife at Michigan, played under Bo Schembechler at Michigan, coached at Michigan. I digress, obviously all those reasons are why he is the clear front runner.
The next group of coaches all follow Miles. This group includes, Kirk Ferentz of Iowa, Jon Gruden of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and an obvious sleeper, Brian Kelly of Cincinnati. There will be at least a few weeks before the head coaching position at Michigan will be resolved. But who is the best candidate for the job? Who will live up to the foundation that Bo and Lloyd Carr built? And most importantly, who will bring the National Championship back to Ann Arbor? Any thoughts?
