The No. 10 jersey is traditionally worn by the best player on a team, usually a striker. Goalkeepers generally wear the No. 1 shirt. Almost every team follows the rule. Defenders often wear numbers between 2 and 6. Midfielders wear numbers 4,6,7,8 and 11. Strikers usually wear 9 and 10.
