do you believe history repeats itself?

Many great people have said that if you study one social science let it be history. Because history repeats itself and you'' know what o expect..do you think you agree, its i said to be true for politics and countries and also true on a personal level..does anybody agree..do you have examples?

Hi enigmatic, I was told tht in human, life episode repeats itself every 9 yrs. M not sure if its true but M starting to record my personal episode from this yr.

Did you know that Mayas believed that times is repeating itself in the course of 50 years, I think. They believed that the same things would happen again and again each 50 years. That's why the arrival of Europeans was such a shock for them because it had never happened before. They didn't believe that time repeats itself but they actually believed that that's the same period. Like after 50th year the 1st came again but it was the same one from 50 years ago. Isn't that great? I found out about this just few days ago.
And what about de ja vues?
