Flies and more Flies

OMG, the flies. Every since fall has gotten here I have had this problem with flies. Big ones and little ones that look like gnats. Some of them dont even fly away when you get near them, they are the easy one to swat. But then we have the bigger ones that do nothing all day but buzz around your head and when we are sleeping just before you alarm goes off they are buzzing in your ear or landing on your face. I have been spending the past month killing these flies and I think for evey one that you kill 15 more appare, LOL. I am at my wits end with them and have used fly spray and other stuff but they just wont go away. Like right now I am trying to make this post and of course I have one that just keeps landing on my hand and keyboard. OMG! if you have any ideal on how to get rid of these things or why everyone has them right now, yes alot of my neighbors also have them right now. So does anyone have any ideals how to get rid of them or why we are having such a rush of flies right now.

my kids went to a birthday party yesterday and there were flies everywhere it was awful but does not matter but flies can be annoying thanks for this discussion and happy postings

That sucks!!!
Have you tried using those fly strips??
Several years ago we had flies really bad and we hung two fly strips outside of our door. It helped pretty good.

It's the flies last hurrah before the frost kills them and they die out for the winter. We where in-indated when them a few weeks ago. I had to keep the fly swatter with me at all times. YUCK I hate flies.

I know I keep killing them and more just show up, my poor farette, the flys bug him and he gets mad and runs around in his cage and I keep his cage really clean but the flys will fly around his litter box, so I have this one kind of fly spray for horses so I used it around his cage so they dont make him sick, I have more flys now then I did all summer. The pests.

Try cleaning your house. Get rid of any food on the ground. Take out the trash often. Put some fly paper in the house. If you don't want to clean up the house then buy some geckos and let them loose in the house. They will eat all of the flies.

That is a funny comment there Spider, for one I do clean my house every day and I dont have food on my floors because I run my sweeper everyday on my carpets. And my trash can in my kitchen has a lid on it. I keep my house clean as a whip at all times because I have to many people in my house on a day to day bases, I am a manager of a trailer park and I have renters and people looking for places to live so I cant afford to have a messy house. And also the with the flies it has nothing to do with how dirty your house is. thank you for you comment.

Oh I feel for you hoghoney! They are so pestering! You're doing exactly what I would do which is swatting them with the fly swatter and fly spray. One idea may help though is the sticky paper that you stick to the ceiling with a tac so when they land on it they stick to it and eventually die. I know it sounds cruel but dang, when desperate situations call for desperate measures.

LOL When hubby and I lived in Texas, we had a big problem with them too and the only way to combat them is to fight them just as hard and fast as they were getting in. Fly swatter in hand no matter where I was or at least near by.
Yeah reincarnation. LMAO I do understand though! LOL

Torture by flies..I know exactly how you feel I went to New Mexico to help my mom move in late September and there were hordes of flies no matter what we did they seem to always be thousands of them it seemed that is one thing I don't miss about New Mexico is the hordes of flies. My mom was buying a can of fly killer everyday and we had so many fly papers up that it looked like she has seaweed hanging from her ceiling there is one thing that helped not cured but helped it was a trap the flies go in they couldn't get back out and they die it smelled to high heaven of course the stench is what attracts the flies to the trap. It was a trap made of a plastic bag with a yellow plastic stopper in the top and your supposed to hang it ooutside in a tree to draw the flies to it instead of the house. Plus there was me,mom,dad, all killing thousands of flies a night as they land on the ceiling to rest because if we didn't we wouldn't get any sleep for the flies wanting to try to fly in our mouths or crawl over us I am not used to that so it drove me batty..lol I think the trap was called Flies be gone fly trap but I am going to ask my dad to make sure..have a great day!
