Are license plates with GETOSAMA on them wrong?

The New York State DMV think so. AFTER issuing the plates to a retired NYPD officer, the SMV is asking for the plates to be returned. What is you out take on this? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,313725,00.html

I think it is wrong, because we are supposed to be teaching peace not hate, and how many of us really know he is behind all of this. Don't get me wrong, but we only have the word of the gov't. who isn't exactly truthful.
