I have read interviews with J.K. Rowling, where she said she will definitely write after the Harry Potter series. She thinks her next book will be some form of a detective novel or mystery (non magical). I don't know how long it will take to come to be published. Do you think you will read it when it comes out because she is a good storyteller? Or do you think that you won't as it would be so different than Harry Potter that you might wait to see how other people like it first?

I think the next book that J.K. Rowling was referring to is "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" which is not about Harry Potter per se... but a spinoff...this is the book that Dumbledore left Hermione which had clues about the Deathly Hallows... but sad to say that this is not commercially available... J.K. Rowling handwritten and drew all the illustrations... she made only seven copies... one to be auctioned and all proceeds will go to charity and the rest will be given as gifts to her closest friends...

Interesting...I also read somewhere that it was speculated that the history of hogwart's would come out as well. But i guess time will tell what happens...

If JKR had published a non-Harry Potter book after her first one, I would not have even heard about it. Had she done so after book three in the series, I would not have read it. Her writing has simply improved by leaps and bounds in the gap between her first book and her seventh. As a side note, that's one reason I think the epilogue of the series seems so out of place.
Would I read it now? Yes, but as you say, I would wait and see what others had to say first. I think she still has the potential to improve as a writer, but I'm not sure how she would perform in a new writing environment. Personally, I would rather she published "Hogwarts, A History" (or whatever she's going to name her 'Scimarillion'(sp), as she has said she will work on) before moving on to a new topic.

A lot of critics said that she may not be the best writer, technically speaking, but she is a heck of a storyteller. I think the storytelling gift was always there, but I agree that the actual writing has gotten better also.

I think I will still read the next book. I think that would also be a nice and interesting book knowing her good imaginations and works.

Hi,
If the story is good of course I will read it. I like reading novels especially detective ones. I have read many of them. Could you please write the link of the interview if you read it on the net? I would like to see what J.K. Rowling said about that new book.

I think i read something on mugglenet
But i first heard of it was months ago when I read it and it could have possibly been in the paper. I did recently see it on the internet on the access hollywood site. One little blog claims that the neighbor who mentioned it to the press said it was a joke that he made up. But I really think I read that she said that her next book may be a detective book.

If J.K Rowling's new book is detective novel or mystery, it sounds very interesting to attract my focus for such books. It is well known that Harry Potter series of J.K Rowling are very popular among readers of different ages. I am also very crazy about harry potter and admire of J.K. Rowling's wonderful imagination and writing talent.
I am now looking forward to read her new books. However, I do not know I would love her new books as her harry potter. After all, she has not tried such new kinds of literature before and there may be some differences between detective novel and magical books.
I like J.K Rowling because of her amusing harry potter,so I will continue to support of her new books if these books are as attracting as harry potter.
