What program do you use to remove trojan and spyware?

Last night I downloaded some chatting programs, it is slowing my computer down, when I type, the cursor jumps. Drive me nuts. I do have Norton installed on my PC. Any suggestions for the best trojan spyware removal? I downloaded Micirsoft Anti-spyware, it is a resource hog. Spyware Doctor just won't be able to see anything.
