How often do you see or talk to your parents?

My mom moved several states away from me last March, over 900 miles. Now I have only seen her once since then. I do talk to her on the phone but only about twice a month. It does seem a lot different with her so far away especially during the holidays. My dad passed away 11 years ago and I miss him very much. I was thinking, How often do you talk to your mom? Do your parents live close to you? Do you visit them often?

My parents both live about a thousand miles from me. I don't see them. I saw my mother a year and a half ago when I had my son, and I didn't want her to come here even then, but my husband insisted.
Before that, I hadn't seen either of my parents in about 6 years. Even then, I went back to Kentucky to see my great-grandfather, who was dying, not to see my parents. I did like seeing my father, as I rather like the person he has become but... my parents were not truly parents to me. So I don't have the same relationship with them it sounds like you have with your parents.

I see my parents everyday. My son stays with them after school till I go and pick him up after office. Its an arrangement of mutual convenience, though I must admit that it is me who is being pampered here like always. Being an only child, it was difficult for me to meet my parents regularly after marriage. They also harboured this grudge against me, sometimes correctly sometimes irrationally. After many years of procrastination, I have finally managed to convince my hubby to take up a residence near my parents. So now I meet them everyday and it’s a great load off my shoulders.

Except when I went off to college, I've lived in the same city. We moved here in 1955 and I always figured I'd stay. My sister got out of town to go to college & then moved on to jobs in other cities. I think she was looking for a place where her allergies would be less bad, but discovered that they are bad all over, so she's settled in Knoxville TN.

my dad passed 21 years ago. I was never close to my mom emotionally but we saw each other regularly over the years. She is now in need of 24-7 care and so I see her daily. my brothers and are are working together to try to keep her comfortable.

That's so nice of you. It is very sad when old people are left alone and they can't take care of themselves. My grandparents spend a lot of time with us because they still can drive so they often come for visit but my mum already has a room prepared for them to move in
if they need more care.

I've recently moved out of my parents house and the first week I hardly got to see them, apart from when I went to see them or they spent a few hours here and it was pretty hard. I speak to them daily, although I miss seeing and spending time with them, especially since my son is going throught the same thing. (missing them)..
Speak - Every day.. at least 3/4 times
See - Two or three days

I have also lost 5 sisters, 2 of them in less then 2 years..and I am 57 years old.
I have so many lovely memories....

I'm so sorry to hear this raydene. My mom passed away when I was nineteen, and my dad when I was five. I also lost a sister when I was eleven, and I'm fifty six now. I love to hear about families being close, as this is such a special thing. Take Care.

I usually talk to my mom about once or twice a week, sometimes more. I moved 1600 miles away 2 1/2 years ago, and I've been back once, it's a long drive lol. Actually it's hard for me to get the time off to go, I like driving and to go and have anytime to visit, it's about a week long trip. The holidays are the hardest, we always got together at my mom and dad's house. But, my boyfriend's family have always welcomed me in and being with his family helps.

Hi,there! My mum and I live together so that I can see her very day:) The feeling is so good and nice though we sometimes have problems with each other. It's just good to know the one you love is all right and lead a good life with the healthy body:) When I'm back from work,my mum has always prepared delicious food and many kinds of fruits for me.I feel so glad and I'm proud of her.I talk to her every day. We're like friends so that I can almost talk everything with my mum.I think I'm pretty lucky at this point. Thanks for the discussion and best wishes for all the mums in the world. Have a nice weekend^_^

I see my parents everyday, since I live with them. But sometimes is not really that much the time we talk.

I just spoke to my mom over the phone yesterday afternoon. Though I haven't seen her in almost 3 months. We aren't that far away from each other (about 30 miles one way), it's just that we have our own lives, so we don't see each other much. She's busy with her own life with work and such and I'm busy with mine. I was planning on meeting her for Thanksgiving, but my husband got sick with a cold that morning (our kids caught it the next day, and I caught it the day after our kids) and he didn't feel up to going anywhere. Plus we didn't want to get my mom sick anyway.
I haven't seen my dad for 6 years...gee, has it really been that long?!? He's only a couple hours away from me, but we haven't been all that close since he and my mom divorced back when I was a kid. We do email each other now and then, but that's about it lately. :(

As I have work in another place where has a long away from my hometown. It's very difficult to go back home ,so I seldom visit them.I miss them very much and want to go back my hometown,I think I'm homesick. But ,I know nowadays the competitions are intense ,it's difficult for us to find a good job if we have not any special skills .I planed to work in there for some time and then go back .
At now ,I talk to my parents on the phone once a week.I really miss them and best wishes for them.
