What does it take to make new friends here on mylot?

I personally would rather have a handful of friends that I had something in common with, and with whom I shared a mutual support system, rather than page after page of avatars of people who don't actually give a sh!t about me, who I can't figure out why they ever invited me to begin with. I don't usually request friends but it looks like you answered your own question with this post.

Once people see the kinds of discussions you post, the ones with those subjects that they can relate too, they will be friends. I find that the people who have like interests seem to stay in a group and comment on each others discussions. Also by commenting on others discussions is a great way to make friends. That is why I am commenting on this discussion, you commented on mine. Good luck

i think, basically, you just have to respond to posts that you're interested in and once there's an interaction (or exchange of posts) between you, you can already ask them to be added on your friend list. or they will add you. just keep on posting and posting. it's like making actual friends you know. when you get to talk to someone all the time and you hit it off, you become friends. and if you have common interests and stuff, that's it. just don't be shy. and it's easy not to be shy on myLot rather than in real life, right?

Based on my experience, you just have to do more postings and responses because by doing so people will be able to recognize you. I'm quite new here and i'm happy to say that i have several friends already and the best part of it is that they were the ones who invited me. Be nice too in every responses that you posts because you are being judged by the way you handle the discussions and when other members start befriending you it means you're doing a good job. Just remember that what you say here can make mylot people like or hate you.

Hi there taz :) It takes time and patience and never giving up. I was here for months before I made many friends. Then all of sudden I had so many that I couldn't remember all the avatars. But believe me as time goes by the friends become really that. You get to know them and all their problems and what their favorite topics are. Just keep myLotting and you'll have a lot too. I have been here for a little bit now and don't really have friends. I have friends on my account but they are not people I interact with regularly...so I guess it doesn't really count. I am looking forward to making real friends, but I don't know when that will happen. I guess time will tell.

I just answered one of their posts and soon after I get a friend request.I must have answered well.I know that I have requested a friend after I find out that we have something in common.

Just keep posting, and people who read your posts and like the way you think will request to be your friends... It takes a while, for the first friends to come, but little by little you'll have a lot of them! Good luck and happy posting!!
