how can you be more sociable and interesting without being a fake?

sometimes cocktail parties are a drag. you HAVE to be sociable and intersting for people to like you. but i don't want to be a fake. i'd still like to be myself. but what if the real self is boring and bland? how can you force being sociable by not faking it? get what i mean?

Dont ever be social if you dont want to ..choose only those ppl with whom are comfortable with..hence you cant fake in front of them since i assume they know you to your best..
