my 4 year old daughter is in nursery. when it comes to academic, she's very intelligent,in fact she received a certificate of recognition as one of the TOP 5 students in their class... what just bothers me is that everytime they have extra activities like school programs, she cries a lot! she cries during practices to the extent she wouldn't involve herself. i ask her why is that? she just shake her head and cries again. what can i do? what should i do? is this fear? insecurities?

hello ghie94,
It is need not necessary that a child who is academically good also to be good or interested in extracuricular activities. It is the question of interest. Your child who is good academically, din't have interest in other things(sports or competitions). This does not mean your child is having fear or insecurity.
Don't be a Supernatural parent and put pressure on your child, instead be a normal parent to your child and just leave it to her interests. O.K.
Please don't have unnecessary worries about your child.
Good Luck for both of you.
