Hello,
I am new to this as I just started here today. I figured this would be a great way to learn much about all of the things which interest me and to perhaps gain some great online friends!
I am very interested in becoming fluent in the French language and learning all I can about French customs and the culture. I took French in high school many years ago, but want to learn it completely and speak it impeccably. I also would like to visit France. My ultimate goal with this would be to teach the language to others and become a translator/interpretor for businesses, etc.
Would anyone like to engage me in such information and discussion? I look forward to hearing from you! Au revoir!

Start searching for new friends on your own that are from France. There are some out there because I have come across some. Of course you can also go online and download several free programs that will teach you french. I have one on my computer that is very good.
Welcome to the neihborhood. Stop by some time and good luck!

Thank you for your response Adoniah! I have a few very good books and an excellent pronounciation series on CD. I still hope to generate responses with some useful info about the customs and culture from others personal experiences. Sometimes books give you perfect scenarios and gloss over tips. I want to learn the meat of things. Just like in French courses, they tend to not teach slang/street language, I would like to learn that as well as what to do in real life everyday situations, as well. Such as, what to do when invited over for l'aperitifs, etc.
I will visit you some time again! Have a great day!
